Definitive Diagnosis

Next Tuesday I'm getting wired up for a week so my cardiologists can get a fuller picture of what's going on. Originally diagnosed with SVT and then Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia after the second failed ablation, I ended up in hospital 6 weeks ago with Atrial Flutter which required an electric cardioversion. My dosage of Sotalol was increased and I haven't had a racing heart since, although I've had a lot of weird feelings. This may be a silly question but if the medication is currently contolling the rate, what is likely to show on the monitor?

Sorry I can’t help, there might be someone coming alone soon who can!

Both rate (how fast your heart beats) and rhythm (the pattern, or lack of it, which shows up on an ECG) are important. The former needs to be kept down or our hearts will eventually be damaged. The latter will still show, and it sounds as though this is what they want to look at. They will hope to discover what is happening when you have those 'weird feelings'
