Six-month checkup with EP
6 month checkup with EP today. EKG was fine. But I have gained some weight over the summer and BP was a little high. So I will be doubling lisinopril for a while. When I told him I have been having little runs of tachycardia with exercise, he decided to keep me on sotalol for at least another 6 months

Back in A and E again...
Went to bed at about midnight and about half an hour later woke up with good old paroxysmal afib- most of my episodes have been at night. Initially my heart was beating at about 130bpm, but after much deep breathing it slowed to around 80. Fairly acceptable you might think, but it was still very irregular

Ablation
Hello I am fairly new on this forum. I have been reading all of the posts over the past couple of days and I do not seem to be finding anyone who has anything good to say about having a Ablation which is making me feel slightly scared as I have my procedure coming in the next few weeks. All sorted for sotalol!
Hi all, this is just to let you know I have got some sotalol to tide me over the next few days. I have learned many things from my recent posting, most importantly to phrase my questions better and supply a lot more info. Thanks all! Emma

Conversation with GP about permanent Afib
I was diagnosed with paroxysmal Afib about 2 months ago and after taking Sotalol was free-so far as I could tell-from episodes. However, earlier on during the week I woke up with Afib- a bit of a blow as I hoped the meds would prevent recurrence. When I spoke to my GP this morning he said that mine might

AF ONLY AT NIGHT
Hi, I only get AF when I’m in bed at nighttime. Almost like clockwork after about 10 mins I m off, sometimes lasting all night! During the day I’m absolutely fine and feel really well. Does anyone else suffer this way? Any help or tips would be most helpful. Getting anxious at bedtime, I know this doesn

My ablation experience
After 4 years of AF I was put on the list for an ablation which I had over two weeks ago. It was a partial success with 2 of the pulmonary veins (the ones on the left) successfully ablated. The 2 on the right had issues, with one vein being too big for the probe meaning that it could not be ablated

Back in A and E...
In A and E after waking up with a pulse of 131. Took an extra Sotalol as advised which restored the heart to rhythm. Exactly the same as happened 7 weeks ago. This has come as a bit of a blow as I didn’t have any problems and thought the Sotalol had dealt with the problem. I guess this is the shape of

Extended Diarrhea
I have been experiencing diarrhea for more than 6 weeks. It started about a month after beginning Sotalol for my heart issues. I am now also on Venetoclax for CLL. Both list diarrhea as a side effect. I don't want to stop taking either drug. I had stool samples examined at my GP's lab which came

A Sotalol question...
I have been on 2x40mcg of Sotalol per day since I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation around 6-7weeks ago. After taking this medication I found that my pulse dropped to around 58 when walking around, but sometimes as little as 48 at rest. Thinking this was perhaps too slow I rang my GP

How many of us are taking Sotalol
We keeping seeing on this site that Sotalol is not prescribed/recommended in the UK for PAF/AF. I also keep finding more and more people in the UK taking it so, go on, let's see how many of us there are ..... Comment if you are in UK and taking Sotalol. https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/sotalol-hydrochloride.html

Heart Rate
I have been on Sotalol (2 x 40mcg per day) for just over a month and have found that it has reduced my heart rate considerably. At rest, it ranges from about 49-52; when walking about, maybe 58-64. When Ivspoke to a GP about this this afternoon she said that this was too slow and wants me to reduce

Re. Sotalol and Viagra.
Hello everyone who replied to my post. Thank you for your comments and of course it would be sensible to see my GP, however after more research yes, my Monomil xl, (isosorbide mononitrate ) is contraindicated with Viagra, Cialis. So, best not risk it. I guess after 30 years of Beta Blockers my poor

Sotalol and viagra?
Hi. I am 71 year old male. I have CHD and PAF. Three stents fitted. I’m on Sotalol 40 twice daily for the AF and ISMO and Ranalozine for Angina, all drugs work well to keep things in check, last AF was June this year. Hope I don’t cause embarrassment but Long term Sotalol has caused Erectile dysfunction

Alcohol and Afib
I have recently been diagnosed with PAF, and am wondering what is a reasonable level of alcohol to drink. I take 2x40 mcg of Sotalol every day. The U.K. limit for everyone is now 14 units per week (I think it is higher in the U.S). Would it be reasonable to drink that amount per week? I haven’t had any
