Hi my name is Cindy and I'm a 59 year old great grandmother. I badly need some advice from people who are also dealing with afib. Afib for 6 years and have RVR. Am now on Xaralto as I've had 3 CVA's thanks to afib. Luckily mild ones. Can't seem to find a medication to control afib and keep pulse and

PAC’s and Afib
What’s worse ? PAC daily or Afib every so many weeks ? Both stink. Don’t want ablation Got tinnitus so if I don’t feel discomfort i dam sure can hear it. It’s a no win situation. And yes lying on left or right side make a difference Sotalol ineffective. Magnesium no help. Dont drink. Smoke

Ablation
Hi, I had my cryoablation last week for atrial tachycardia and he touched up the area of atrial flutter from 1st ablation at the same time. Phrenic nerve pacing was uncomfortable and had a few periods of pain but got given immediate pain relief and more sedation. The team were great and my EP came

I had my first bout of AF around 6 years ago which resulted in an almost week long stay in hospital, have had numerous episodes since along with two cardioversions and previously

Sotalol side effects are killing me. I was on Bisoprolol but they put me on sotalol after a 16 hour AF attack. I have had many episodes of full blown Paroxsysmal AF for years now but lately it has morphed into a less aggressive mode. It is more of a continuous Arrythmia where I get one or two ‘good’

Daily vs PIP dosing
I was diagnosed 2 yr ago with a fib, put on sotalol by local cardiologist. After 4 mo of complaining about sotalol, finally sought second opinion and saw EP. He took me off sotalol and gave me flecainide/ metoprolol as PIP. This worked great, only 4 short episodes (2-3 hr) in 2 yr untillast week. I had

Waiting for a follow up appt
I was admitted via GPappt/ambulance to Derriford Hosp November 2017 having been in AF for a couple of days. Self regulated back to NSR after a further 2 days (Thursday), but had I not, ablation was scheduled for the following day Friday, whilst I was still an inpatient. Previous drugs Digoxin, bisoprolol

High Blood Pressure during the Night.
Hi, I wonder if anyone is able to help me with a high blood pressure issue. I have had Paroxysmal Afib for about 10 years and managed Ok other than the occasional visit to A&E when the HR won't drop from 140 and then have had to have a Cardio Version, one full version and another one via an injection

Dismayed
After waiting twelve months to see an EP regarding my AF which I have had for twenty years I told him I came off Sotalol 320mg a day because it made me feel so unwell with my GP guidance of course. He thought not having any medication at all for control was not a good thing because I will go into permanent

My EP was great he clearly explained why he cant do anymore RF ablations and showed me the 3D image of my

Svt and ectopics
I have had ectopic heartbeats for 42 years, svt for 11 years, I will see the electrophysiologist from Barts hospital 6 th March. I had an attack of svt a couple of weeks ago of 188 beats, adenisone did not put it back, put on a drip of sotalol and it gradually went back. I am on bisoprolol 1.25, not

High Blood Pressure after ablation
I have had 15 yrs of paroxysmal aFib. I just had an ablation in January, 2018. Since the ablation, my HR is really high, i.e., 90+bpm, and it was always 72bpm before the heart meds made it 55bpm for 2 yrs. My most recent med was sotalol, and I stopped that after the ablation. The fast HR doesn't bother

Enlarged left atrium
Hi everyone. Well hubby has been off since September 2017 with AF. Had one electro fusion which worked sort of for 5 days, then back in AF and ecg and mri confirmed. Consultant referred hubby to another consultant for ablation and this new guy has been the first to tell us that his left atrium is stretched

Fast heartbeats and flutter do not react to medication
Have had two ablations so far for afib and flutter None , and I m not exagerating none of the twelve or thirteen types of medication or combinations I have been given have worked, bottom line they make no difference to heart rate or rythm, and produce dire side effects Sotalol and Flecanaide landed

Bisop + flec vs Sotalol
Hi, I read the posts and find them interesting and useful, now I wonder if someone can offer me any thoughts. I have had af for about 12years. Initial cardioversion, drugs, ablation (which didn’t work). Have been on bisop and flec for many years with the occasional bout of af, Apixaban for the last six

AF 4 days after ablation
Hi all, wanted to get some shared experience or feedback on my situation. Having had a cryo-ablation last Wednesday I felt on top of the world through Saturday when I had an episode of AF that lasted about 8 hours. Then I went into AF on Sunday night and am still in AF some 36 hours later with no breaks

New Regimen of Sotalol
Could anyone please advise of what my EP's strategy may be. I must explain that I have a history of ventricular tachycardia and Ido have an AICD implanted which has discharged multiple time. Yes I have been extremely lucky so far. I recently changed to a new EP who immediately placed a 24 hr. Holter

Living in Afib
HI everyone, I am new to this website, but looking for some support and guidance. I am 54 and have had afib for years. I was never on blood thinners as the doctor told me I was at low risk for a stroke because of age and no other health conditions. Well, he was wrong. I had a stroke in August of
