Confused person!
Due to terrible brain fog, confusion and memory problems - I am trying to take stock of where I am. If this is repetitive, I am sorry. Brief history: ME/CFS diagnosed 15 years ago (although having obtained my blood test results recently my B12 was 165 ng/L in 2005), 2 years ago diagnosis of colorectal

High grade prostate cancer: Large Tumor, High Gleason (9), Low PSA. What next?
Hi everyone, I am new here. My father (50 years old) has been recently diagnosed with high grade prostate cancer. The diagnosis came as a shock to us but we are trying to approach it head-on and gather as much information as possible. We are researching to decide on the best treatment moving forward

Skin care
I have had my stoma for 5 weeks now and it's settled down nicely. I'm changing my colostomy bag twice a day and am finding that the skin on my tummy where the adhesive flanges stick is becoming sore and red with some signs of a rash starting. Applying cream seems to affect the 'stickiness' of the bag

Stoma hasn’t worked for over 12 hours no pain
Hi, just wondering if anybody has had a stoma that hasn’t worked for more than 12 hours, no stomach pain or vomiting? My ileostomy has been very quiet and I’ve been drinking and eating normally, Thanks 😊

Day 2 - Post Surgery
Well that was an ordeal! You never know what your body has been through until you’ve heard from your appointed family member afterwards; oh and of course the pain but when you’re a bit delirious on pain relief that’s kind of unclear. 7 hours on the operating table and I’m still here; my poor mamo must

Newby with dietary questions
Hi, my colostomy and stoma is now 3 weeks old following an emergency procedure. Everything's fine so far and my diet is returning to normal. Having said that I find a lot of the advice online contradictory. I understand the no sweetcorn, nuts, peas rules ok but I love salads and really want to reintroduce

Bowel resection on Monday
Hi everyone, I have stage 4 recto vaginal endo and have been struggling for years. I had my first lap last December to remove a 4cm cyst from the left ovary. The surgeon found endo on my appendix and my ulterior wall. I have now been booked in for a bowel resection + removal of the endo within my gynae

Stoma
Hi there everyone. I’m having my op tomorrow for my first recurrence of OC. There is a possibility of me having a stoma, hopefully temporary. Have any of you had this? What can I expect? I’m so scared but trying to be ultra positive to family and friends.

Constipation and antidepressants
Hi, Can anyone tell me of any anti depressants which do not have constipation as a side effect. I have been constipated since birth. Many medical reasons, and I take strong medication every day to make my bowels work. I’m in a bad place mentally at the moment for lots of external reasons, but the antidepressants

Severe incontinence
I was wondering if anyone had been offered stoma surgery for their severe Diarrhea. I can’t go out anymore due to the problems, the last 3 years of my life have been mostly stuck inside and I’m only 23. I am on the toilet up to 20 times a day and can never leave the house due to the urgency. I’ve had

Post surgery .........update
Well 28 months after my initial diagnosis, 26 months after my stoma creation for a bowel perforation and 2 years since my tah , I had surgery to reverse my stoma as it was constantly blocking due to a hernia. I’ve had 6 days in hospital after the surgery and I can’t say it was pleasant. I thought this

Rectovaginal and rectal endometriosis having hysterectomy in 8 days. They said I may wake with a colostomy bag??
So 14 months ago I had surgery, excision surgery. Four hours in operation. Rectovaginal, rectal, on side walls, and pelvic floor they found ‘superficial ‘ endometriosis. Had my tubes from kidney to bladder ( forget their name) moved as they had endometriosis on/around them. My uterus was noted as ‘bulky

Laproscopy for endo and possible stoma
Hey ladies, so I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort for a year or so. Finally had ultrasounds then had an mri which has found endo on/in my bowel. I've got surgery on Monday and been told to be warned I could end up with a colostomy bag if they find more than 3cm worth of endo in my bowel. I was
