Rheumatologist appointment at last!
My last rheumatologist appointment after ultra sounds on shoulders, and chest xray was postponed due to him being sick. He was most apologetic, but no one can help being sick. So I have tears in Noth left and right shoulder muscles, and I have a slightly enlarged heart. 2 years since I had a heart

Iron could help B12 levels
Hi everyone, I’ve never post before… but I came across some useful information that could help you all. In my own personal experience I developed a b12 deficiency for no particular reason, I’ve been tested for pernicious anemia and that came back negative, I put it down to a mixture of a restricted

Possible dangers of too much iron.
Iron supplementation is often advised on this forum. This article points up new research on the effect of iron on Alzheimer's. I would appreciate anyone with medical knowledge running their eye over this in case of any relevance to RLS. They do mention MS, which can be associated with RLS. Lhlklttps

I have RLS and recently updated iron labs revealed the following: Ferritin=59.2ng/mL & Transferrin Saturation = 53%.
I have been taking oral iron supplements (Iron sulfate 325mg) and Vitamin C 200 mg daily on an empty stomach but the ferritin has been going up but slowly but the transferrin saturation has gone up much higher. Should I continue with my iron supplements?

Trazodone
Hi , after trying very hard to navigate depression without drugs I have now just started Trazodone . Taking Gabapentin successfully, only mild RL . Had every dopamine drug for many years and now completely free of them for at least 6 months . My question is although Trazodone is deemed not to affect

Low ferritin, high iron
I recently got a bunch of lab tests done by a functional medicine doctor. I thought I had too much iron. My UIBC was lab low at 91(range 131-425), my iron was lab high at 204(range 27-159), and iron saturation was lab high at 69%(range 15-55%).But ferritin was somewhat low, though not lab low. It was

I posted my latest test results last night and just wondered if anyone can advise if i'm on the right dose of levo? I'm pretty sure my gp is going to ring to discuss the results and i want to make sure i know what to say. Should i start taking a B12? Also should i stay on the iron patches? 🤔 I should

Confused about latest blood tests - why are FT4 and FT3 rising, but I still feel awful and I'm undiagnosed and not on any meds?
Sorry for the super long post.... I would very much appreciate the help of you wonderful people on this forum. I am a bit confused with my latest blood test results that I just received yesterday, and am hoping that you will be able to help me understand what's going on. I'll try to keep it brief, while

Should I accept dose reduction?
My TSH dropped from 4.98 on diagnosis to below 1 as soon as I started Levo in 2020. For the past two years it’s been 0.01-0.03. It dropped that low when I went up to 100mcg in 2021. I accepted I was over medicated from advice here ( FT4 24.9, FT3 6.5) and because I was losing weight and I reduced

Advice on latest test results
Hi, I got diagnosed with underactive thyroid in September 2023. I was put on 50g of Levothyroxine and iron tablets as I had low ferritin and anemic. My latest results show I'm no longer anemic but my ferritin is still relativity low despite having been on iron tablets for 2 months. Dr seems to be

Intense Knee Pain
I have posted before about my unbearable knee pain & sadly it still persists. All the years that I was on Pramipexole & then the Neupro patch I got the very uncomfortable RLS symptoms of creeping sensations in the legs and the impossible ability to keep them still. but never pain. When, during lockdown

Ferritin levels
Got bloods taken last week, the GP who ordered them isn't in until Wed, but I spoke to receptionist who said all had been returned as "normal" levels. I asked her to read out my ferritin and she said it was 64. So I know this isn't "normal" for folks with RLS and I image the GP will put me on iron supplements

Hello forum Autoimmune Metaplastic Atrophic Gastritis (AMAG) results in the loss of parietal cells which causes a loss of production of stomach acid and intrinsic factor (IF). The loss of IF results in low B12. My general query is; are there consequences and symptoms connected to a lack of stomach

Hi all I have taken iron tablets prescribed by my GP for over 15 years. My Ferritin levels were low when I was in my 20s and have taken iron tablets since then. I was really unwell last year with an unrelated illness and I haven’t taken my iron tablets for a few months. My results; Serum Iron
