sodium update
I have just rung my Gp re. Hyponatremia Test .. Receptionist said Dr. Has seen results of sodium test and sees no reason for further tests as ‘ I have been borderline for YEARS’. I asked when first test was done . Seems it was only last year. May 22. 134. Sep22. 133. July 23. 130.

Alcohol - I Did a Silly Thing
Yesterday to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday, my son in law chartered a beautiful boat for the afternoon - 3hrs. It was wonderful and from the time we left the harbour the four of us were plied with nice things to eat and wine. Now I'd already had a drink before boarding the boat and my wine consumption

Hyponapea test
Just seen letter hospital sent to my gp. My sodium level is 134 and they suggested Hyponapea test. Any advice welcome on fluid intake. Never had cause to think about how much I drink before. Fortunately seeing my alternative practioner in 3 weeks so I'll make sure test is done before then It's

What diet to follow?
My 66 y.o. husband has a Gfr of 53 and 15 to 30 protein in urine. He was first diagnosed 19 months ago and Gfr has changed very little. His PCP tells him to drink more water, lower sodium intake and get tested annually. He went to a Nephrologist that told him to drink less water (no more than 50 oz

How much Gaviscon to take?
Having endured angina type symptoms for more than a year, yesterday I tried Gaviscon for the first time at the suggestion of my GP. I immediately feel a lot better. So now I want to ask everybody about taking Gaviscon. Is it OK to continue taking it indefinitely every day ? The instructions say 10

Low sodium levels and Indapamide
Hi, I was taking Indapamide for 4 weeks and my BP was great, however my GP has taken me off them as he said my sodium levels are too low, now I'm on Doxazosin and my BP is right back up and I feel rubbish. Anyone else suffer from low sodium levels and if so is there anything you can take to increase

Radiation Proctitis looking for advise please.
I am a 62 year old woman and had pelvic external beam radiotherapy for five weeks ending in March 2023. Since then I have had bowel problems, a bit of urinary incontinence, lymphedema and tingling like sensations in my legs. Bleeding from my anus became worse in December. I have since had a colonoscopy

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
Hello. I'm so glad to have found this supportive and helpful community! I apologize for the long post. I first noticed when I received routine bloodwork results a year ago that my eGFR was flagged as low at 80. Since I didn't know what an eGFR was, I started researching and was alarmed to read that
