Has anyone been using TUDCA or Restore Gold? Have you seen slowing or halting of progression of symptoms?
It looks like TUDCA is one of two ingredients in a drug now being sold to treat ALS, under the brand name Relyvrio in the U.S. (but at an extortionate list price of $158,000 a year) and ALBRIOZA in Canada. Co-formulated sodium phenylbutyrate/taurursodiol (PB/TURSO). Approved by the FDA in Dec. 2022 and

Next treatment?
We just left the Oncologist office and not good news. PSA is still climbing. It went from 64 to 74 in 6 weeks. Hubby has been through XTANDI, Chemo, targeted radiation, RADIUM 223. Been on Eligard for 7 years. Oncologist would like him to go in a clinical trial at Princess Margaret hospital in Toronto

My 80 year-old dad with MPCa, broke his leg and now seems to be giving up. Advice on best anti-anxiety meds desperately needed.
Dear PC family As you will see from my profile my dad in England has been on his prostate cancer journey for five years. He was doing well until March, still actively farming though fatigued, and was due to start Radium 223 in April. Sadly, he broke his leg on March 12 in a fall, was put in a full-leg

Hi All, my husband had to abandon radium 223 when it was discovered that he had several lung nodules (around 8mm). His PSA has been increasing for the last 18 months (he was diagnosed August 2022) so his oncologist sent him for a scan after the 4th radium infusion which is how the lung nodules were discovered

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
Hello. I'm so glad to have found this supportive and helpful community! I apologize for the long post. I first noticed when I received routine bloodwork results a year ago that my eGFR was flagged as low at 80. Since I didn't know what an eGFR was, I started researching and was alarmed to read that

Light headed.
Twice this week I have felt slightly dizzy and lightheaded. My sodium levels are usually low. I'm waiting to go back for another test. I wonder if this could be causing my symptoms. I feel drained too. Usually, I am fine. It makes me really worried thinking I might have a stroke or heart attack

night out flare up
sitting in a lovely hotel room with hubby, due to see a show in 3 hrs and having a bad flare up. Lots of trapped wind, pain and dashing to the loo. Taken an Imodium but feel washed out now. Supposed to be having a nice meal before show, but now scared to eat, and not sure if I can make show either😭.

Alcohol - I Did a Silly Thing
Yesterday to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday, my son in law chartered a beautiful boat for the afternoon - 3hrs. It was wonderful and from the time we left the harbour the four of us were plied with nice things to eat and wine. Now I'd already had a drink before boarding the boat and my wine consumption

Imodium
Hello, does anyone find it helpful to take Imodium to prevent diarrhoea if going out? Or would you recommend taking anything else as a preventative?

December and flare ups
I have suffered with chronic IBS D for over twenty years and I always seem to get worse this time of year, but I have no idea why! I have tried many different anti depressants to try to alleviate the problem, and I am currently on citalopram which doesn’t seem to do anything. I am resorting to taking

Covid question
I’ve avoided Covid up until now. My partner and I picked it up in Cuba. Started with what we thought was food poisoning, the dreaded diarrhea. It’s now been 14 days. We’ve had chills, fevers, fatigue and daily diarrhea. I’m at the final three months of V treatment so was advised to start the antiviral

Following SOC here in BC Canada
I am currently at the CRPC stage of my disease. About 7 years since diagnosis. Started with ADT and Docetaxel. Was able to be castrate sensitive for 4.5 years. Tried to add Abiraterone and it failed after a couple of months. Had Radium 223 and it was okay but did nothing to the PSA. Cancer kept progressing

What diet to follow?
My 66 y.o. husband has a Gfr of 53 and 15 to 30 protein in urine. He was first diagnosed 19 months ago and Gfr has changed very little. His PCP tells him to drink more water, lower sodium intake and get tested annually. He went to a Nephrologist that told him to drink less water (no more than 50 oz

My husband has passed.
On Wednesday 17th April Ronnie suffered a brain hemorrhage in the late afternoon at home. He died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday 18th. He had just turned 71. He was diagnosed in January 2020. I believe that Radium 223 precipitated his death. I have written before here on his experiences

How much Gaviscon to take?
Having endured angina type symptoms for more than a year, yesterday I tried Gaviscon for the first time at the suggestion of my GP. I immediately feel a lot better. So now I want to ask everybody about taking Gaviscon. Is it OK to continue taking it indefinitely every day ? The instructions say 10
