Early Hypo/Hashi's Complicated By Adrenal/Low Cortisol
Greetings everyone: Finally got fed up with my family doctor who knows nothing and went two routes - endocrinologist (my doctor reluctantly gave a referral) and naturopath. Symptoms I have just about every symptom of hypothyroidism I have ever read and I am confirmed Hashi's by antibodies and ultrasound

Can mild incline in potassium levels after b12 inj therapy explain heart palpitation and anxiety?
I'm probably deficient in b12 as I have many of the relevant symptoms (including neurological) so I started b12 injection therapy in the advice of my Doctor. I'm using cianocoblamin 1000 mcg injection each alternate day. I'm also mildly deficient with Iron so I take the Solgar "Gentle Iron" - 25mg byglicinate

Best bone supplements
I never know which supplements to take, or which are good. Can anyone recommend? Does anyone take this one? I have osteopenia age 45 through having my ovaries removed post cancer, and am very keen to stop any further bone loss. This forum is amazing, thanks so much for all the posts and advice. :) Rundown

I'm a little confused as to how I'm doing. I took two tablets of Flucloaxillin in May and got very very unwell and haven't been the same since. Im a touring musician who's had gigs a few times a month thus taking around one dose of imodium once per week since October. I've found the effects to last up

Collapsed
Hi everyone I collapsed earlier due to weakness from a very strict vegan . My doctor (who I don't trust) said absolutely no protein no sodium . He diagnosed me w stage 5 ckd but my GFR is 35% which is stage 3 on numerous medical web sites. He has not given me any medication. My creatinine has gone down

Understanding people's non understanding
Realised that part of the problem is understanding people's NON understanding about IBS. I can empathise as I have numerous friends with depression and have thankfully never faced it but yesterday I went to the docs to get some relief for a fingernail infection and told them I couldn't take oral ones

Antacids related
Is it necessary that CKD patient take
sodium
bicar or
citrate
to prevent metabolic acidosis. My father takes 2000 mg per day. In addition to PPI ( in case of acid reflux, ulcers). Is he taking too many antacid ? He is stage 3 CKD with lot of gastric issues. I am curious to know.

Whole Brain Radiation
I am wondering if anyone out there has had whole brain radiation because of extensive bone mets on their skull/calvarium?. My husband was admitted to the hospital due to difficulty speaking, finding words and expressing them, confusion, could not follow commands and had no to little vision in his right

Extreme rapid weight loss
Ok so husband has gone from 203 on November 20th to 182 this morning. When he hit 183.5 yesterday I insisted we go to ER. They have him a bag of fluids. Labs actually didn’t look to wonky so they sent him home 3 pounds up from the fluids but was even lower this morning. Clearly he can’t lose 1-2 pounds

IBS basics for beginners
Dear all, I have recently been suffering from excess burping and stomach pains for which I became dependent on Nexium for a couple of weeks. I have recently found that this is due mainly to changing from almond milk to lactose free milk, and also because I have been drinking a lot of decaff tea and

Sitting down is a real pain!
Hello I have suffered from lower back pain for most of my adult life. I suspect that this is in common with many, many people but just over 2 years ago I had another familiar episode but this time it did not diminish with the usual sodium diclofenac and Co-Codomol. The main painful and very frustrating

Hello! My daughter was born at 28 weeks, weighing just 2lb10. We spent 4 months in intensive care and since birth her main problem has always been around her digestion and bowels. She was born dairy/lactose intolerant so was put onto Neocate until she was 16mths. Since then she has been on Alpro soya

Earlier Part of Morning in the Loo
Thanks for all your replies. Seems many of you have similar experience of being in and out of the loo for first part of the morning. I have an early morning meeting coming up next week. Plan to eat very little the night before, get up very early, then take an Imodium before I go out. Last year I gave

5 day constipation - how to clear?
As I've complained many many times on here, I've had a storm of IBS D* since May but my problem has eased a little due to a starchy diet and a decrease in stress. However. Last Thursday was a MESS. Not only did I go back to my old city to meet a guy I'd been talking to for 5 weeks (we had mutual friends

Sulphites asthma and tinnitus
Has anyone found that after eating foods containing sulphites makes their asthma and/or tinnitus gets worse..? I am also thinking that sodium laurel sulphate in hair dye, toothpaste, hair shampoo & conditioner possibly makes it worse too. Would be interested to know if anyone else has any experience

Bananas and V-8 seem to alleviate calf stiffness/cramps
I previously posted a question regarding some stiffness and occasional cramping in my calves thinking it may have something to do with PCa and/or meds. Received many good suggestions from our fellow warriors. I decided to take the easiest approach and started a banana a day and 8 ounces of low sodium
