Avoiding Cramps
Morning all, I completed the Rome marathon on Sunday, which happened to be my fifth marathon. As I had been suffering from a cold, I had no expectations, just the intention to finish it. I decided to start at 5.50/km, and try to maintain it for as long as possible, and every 45 minutes I took a gel with

Is it OK to Splurge Twice Per Month?
Hi, everyone. My wife (Stage 2 CKD) and I (Stage 3 CKD) have started eating vegetarian and are doing a lot of vegan as well; we are also really watching our sodium intake. We have cut out any and all meats. We have cut out dairy most of the time. We are doing pretty well, but crave a real cheeseburger

Started in my legs, went to my hips, now it's in my back and shoulders; it's not as easy to move the back as it is the legs! Flip flopin all night, not sure I can handle this getting any worse. I'm currently looking into high quantities of Potassium citrate and would like to try CBD oil; anyone had good

Better Numbers
In January I posted my one functioning kidney numbers - gfr down to 38, create up to 1.86. They were the worst ever in my 57 years. So now after 3 months of limiting my sodium to 2000 mg/day, and losing 12 lbs, I just got my new blood lab results. Gfr up over 60, create down to 1.21! So all the bland

Doctors order a new blood test.
Hi all does any one have any I’d. The doctor order a full blood work up. Due to a lot of problems. They cut my medication in January from 175 to 150 and now down to 125 at the end of March. There trying to raise my T3 from 0.1 last blood test was in March before cut down to 125. Was T3 still at 0.1 but

Magnesium
Sorry, got lost somewhere! I ended up buying Lamberts Magnesium Citrate, after speaking with my friend, as there was a great trade deal offer. It’s very palatable, you just mix a scoop with water, gives you 375mg a day

Dietary analysis app you might like....and how much methionine is too much?
I've turned into a bit of a food geek and I've just discovered an app which analyses my food diary and shows, amongst many other things, methionine, calcium and sodium intake. If anyone is interested, it's called Cronometer. I'm trying (like many of us) to reduce my methionine by reducing my animal protein

Ruxo and diarrhea
Has anyone else on Ruxo had really bad diarrhoea? Since being on it I have had regular bouts of “ the runs” and have had to take Imodium. I have felt so much better in all other respects on the Ruxo and don’t want to have to stop using it.

Has anyone had an iron infusion/injection and did you feel the benefits from this straight away
Well after seeing the Nephrologist yesterday they have said that I am anaemic and have to have iron infusion/injection not sure which now. I asked if it was related to my sore tongue (diagnosed as Geographic Tongue 6 months ago) and she said it was. Hopefully this will go away when I have had the iron

Feeling much better with Magnesium Citrate and an Anti-depressant.
After 45 years of suffering frequent PVC's I met a doctor who suggested magnesium citrate. I also dragged out the last report from my cardiologist who recommended an anti-depressant, advice which I had previously ignored. So I have been taking both for a few weeks now - 400 mg of Magnesium Citrate (not

Co2 levels
Nephrologist visit this week and CO2 low. He added sodium bicarbonate. Can anyone explain more about this? Can it be diet related and how do I help it with what I eat?

New to the Group, G9, CHEK2c.1100 inherited, suspected but unproven de novo oligometastatic with inconclusive staging work-up
Hi all, Sorry to be here but grateful that you are here to support and inform me. I’ve been reading posts every night for a while. I’m a generally fit and healthy 62 year old guy, was diagnosed in January after 3 months of unfortunately misdirected management on prolonged antibiotics as prostatitis.
