Tinnitus and sulphites
Has anyone found that after eating foods containing sulphites their tinnitus gets worse..? I am also thinking that sodium laurel sulphate in hair dye, toothpaste, hair shampoo & conditioner possibly makes it worse too. Would be interested to know if anyone else has any experience of this. Thanks.

Would a cold producing mucus cause lower blood sodium levels?
My serum sodium came back as 132 (my lab reference range 133-146) when the blood test was taken I was suffering with a bad chesty cold which produced plenty of mucus from nose and chest. I also had drunk 4 glasses of water in the hour before the test and had not eaten as was an early test and food too

All about Arthritis and the Ignored foods that can worsen arthritis
Like several illnesses and diseases, health science has overlooked the accurate causes of arthritis for years. Each of the most important types of arthritis has been revealed to have comparable etiologies. It has also been assumed that Gout arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteo arthritis can have

Low FODMAP and ibuprofen
Hi all I recently made the switch to the low FODMAP diet and after two weeks of this and taking magnesium citrate I started to feel so much better (I have IBS-C). Then I had very bad period pain so had to take nurofen. They worked at the time although the last dose made me sick (I probably didn’t eat

Doctors tell me it's ibs but I think it's way more serious
I started out not being able to BM for three days then diarrhea. Then it led to four months of me having to use laxatives and magnesium citrate to relieve impaction. Ended up in a random emergency room when traveling. X-ray shower very impacted and colitis. After he prescribed four bottles of magnesium

Latest blood test results
Dear all, thank you in advance for this. Any insights appreciated. I have been on levo (5omg) for 5 weeks and will be tested after 6 weeks. However, I have been tested regularly for other things and they have thrown in basic thyroid tests each time, plus I contacted old GP from the first half of this

Increase in GFR after major diet change
I went to University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on Wednesday. Had a complete blood workup. On July 25 I started following "Stopping Kidney Disease" by Lee Hull. After 5 weeks I had lost 8 lbs (BMI < 19) so I had to modify diet. I went to pure vegan meaning I was having beans, lentils and other plant

Intestinal noise
My hellish year with ibs is slowlllly starting to get a bit better by a very volatile but 'dry' diet. I have been taking one imodium a week at 8am which amazingly, along with small amounts of veg and fruit and most carbs has made me very comfortable. Its only after a week my intestines seem to go back

GFR dropping fast!
Hello. I'm a 58 year old woman diagnosed with CKD about 5 years ago. During the last few years I stayed pretty much at stage 3. I had a great nephrologist, then I moved to another state. Admittedly the move hasn't been great and I have gained 7 lbs! But most concerning is my GFR, since June, has dropped

Findings of the 2016 Article in MedCrave on 2 June 2016 in relation to the Use of Potassium Citrate in RLS?
Anyone got information on the Findings of the 2016 Article in MedCrave on 2 June 2016 in relation to the Use of Potassium Citrate in RLS? The Study in Bangladesh showed a 100% success rate in using Potassium Citrate in RLS in 2012. Has this been proven wider or was this just another false hope for us

Sudden daily wetting during school
My 7 year old son has had problems with chronic constipation since the age of 2. He has been on movicol throughout that time and more recently supplemented with sodium picosulphate. He sits on the loo after breakfast and after dinner and at present is free of soiling accidents and does a poo most days

Stomach acid effects on oral Bisphosphonates
Has anyone got experience of how Bisphosphonates are affected by stomach acid? Could reduced stomach acid cause unresponsive esophageal valves that then leak stomach contents after taking Bisphosphonates? Presumably, Bisphosphonates are tested on healthy volunteers, not those people with coexisting

I'm 48 today! Why this is a sign of Birthday ' Brain Fog' and is this just another unwelcome gift of GCA/PMR?
I know we don't usually discuss our birthdays on the Forum but I thought this milestone in my Life might be worth mentioning to All you understanding folks because you may be victims of Birthday " Brain Fog" too. So , I'm 48 , why is this significant? Well , if any of you have read my posts or replies
