Ongoing liver assessment stress
Over the last few weeks my husband has been assessed on an outpatient basis to see whether he's suitable for a liver transplant. His last test was this week on Wednesday when he had to do a treadmill test to see how fit his heart is. Just by chance we were looking at his medical record on line and

CT ABDOMEN WITH GASTROGRAFFIN
Hello - had a Faecal Calprotectin result of 304 ug/g so I am having the above CT next week. I have never heard of this, and the prep looks worse than the one for a Colonoscopy! The instructions made me laugh - this is not a laxative but may cause diarrhoea - has anyone out there had one of these scans

Auto Stem Cell transplant?
Hi, Curious to know if anyone out there has had R-chop, then relapsed and the next line of treatment recommended was SCT? I've been battling Marginal Zone lymphoma (2016), transformed to DLBCL (2018) and now it's back again. The auto process sounds very scary (dangerous), and with a 30-50% success rate

Kidney failure stage 4 and am worried?
My mother had a kidney failure she's on stage 4, her GFR was 17% on December 2020, now its increased to 25% (UP & DOWN) she was prepared for kidney transplant (I am the donor) , but now the doctor postponed transplant until it goes down (below 20%), does she really need to do the transplant now or she

Terrified I have rectal/colon cancer
Hi Everyone, For the past 10 days I’ve had a lot of symptoms that have me terrified I have cancer. I’ve been crying a lot. Sorry for the lengthy message. It started with insane amounts of mucus/pus coming out of my rectum. This also kept making me feel I had to poop, but it was just mucus throughout

Lupus life insurance is it possible!
Hi everyone, it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted anything on this forum. Hope you’re all as well as you can possibly be, if not I hope you feel better soon. I have a question for you all and although it’s through the possible worst pandemic this country has been through, I would like to ask

Colonoscopy
Just back from docs, have had a lot of mucus, so after internal anus check and found blood have been referred for two week colonoscopy. No diarrhoea, stools always solid, wondered what is causing all the mucus. Doc also requested Faecal Calprotectin and Faecal Immunochemical Tests. I had a clear NHS

Painless rectal bleeding for 3 weeks
Hi all I have had painless rectal bleeding (red blood, when wiping and on outside of poo. Smallish amounts) now for about 3-4 weeks every time I have a bowel movement. Normally bits of mucus too. I’m 28. No family history of any bowel disease/cancer. Saw my GP a couple of weeks ago, she felt no lumps

Internal hemmroids
I'm 31 I had a colonoscopy when I was 18. Because of blood in stool. Came back I had internal hemmoriods and sometimes they still bother me and bleed I had a lot of blood the other day but I did strain knowing I shouldn't have and had a large stool. Should I have another colonoscopy or would it still

Peripheral Neuropathy in feet
Hi everyone. I have painful , numb feet due to PN for about a year. Did not improve during dialysis and now that I recently had a kidney transplant I am hoping there may be some change? Treating it with pregabalin for the pain. Has anybody else had the same and found any improvement?

Hospital Service Experience for Bilirary Atresia, Leed, Uk
Our daughter will have another operation to attempt to try and clear her Jaundice next week. She had a Kasia on Dec' 14th (born 14/10/20). They will give her a DISDA scan tomorrow (17/02/20) and hopefully try and establish the location of the problem that is still preventing her Jaundice from clearing

VO2max vs cardio fitness
I'm new to this site. I'm a 74 year old man living in York, UK. My Fitbit gives me a score of 42 which is supposed to be excellent for my age. Not long ago I had a proper VO2 max test where I rode an exercise bike with a mask on and they measured my respiratory gases. I was given a score of 13. This
