Diabetes and oesophagectomy
I had an oesophagectomy (keyhole) in December 2021. I've made a slow, steady recovery and feel very lucky to be as well as I am today. I eat well but of course in much smaller quantities.I'm a type 2 diabetic and prior to my op I had my diabetes well controlled using Metformin and diet. I was told, at

GP appointment today - help!
Hello lovely people, I have a GP appointment today and I wanted to ask for advice. I'm on 125mg Levothyroxine. Feel well except for inability to lose weight, Have lost about 3 stone over past 4 yrs but need to lose 2-3 more I'd say (don't use scales). I have pretty much optimised all necessary vitamins

naltrexone
Has anyone out there tried low dose Naltrexone for their RLS? My doctor is considering this as part of a long term rotation plan to manage dependence and augmentation. I haven’t found a lot of information yet, but interested in having as many options

Low sodium diet
Hi everyone!I am here, on this forum for my husband's CKD/proteinuria (all unexplained- kidney biopsy was "normal" as well as his genetic test). Anyway, his Nephrologist put him on low sodium November 30th. I went on it with him and haven't had a migraine since! So for those of you who are supporting

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP

#1: The Start
Following the example of Clarebear I've decided to document my thyroid-adrenal journey on here in hopes it'll keep me accountable, and also may serve some after me. After a long, complicated history of no diagnosis, followed by lithium treatment, then prolonged time spent on T4 with no improvement,

potassium level
I recently had bloodwork done. My sodium is at very bottom of range.( 135) it always has been. My potassium is 3.7 with a range of 3.5-5.5. I have tended to be around 4 or a tad higher. A year ago I was 3.8. I have been injecting every 3 weeks for a year and a half. Do I need more potassium? I know it

New therapies for RLS!! New research finally!
I have had RLS for 30 years, but when prescribed pramaprexole, of course, it made the monster worse. I did some research and there are two new therapies coming out. One is a new drug discovered by professor Dr. Stefan Clemens at Brody school of medicine...he discovered why augmentation happens...

Hello guys I’m a new member and wasn’t sure that this site wasn’t a pop up that I’d accidentally gotten onto ha ha total dinosaur that I am
My story is a long one-I developed a squint and then mono-occularism around 5yrs otherwise fit and healthy though shy, quiet but determined. At the age of 13 I felt like someone had switched me on or woken me up but by 15 I had my first allergic response to food-Hovis wheat germ bread. I became muscular

asthma making me nervous to do cardio exercise
hi all, so I’m on trimbow and rescue inhalers. I’m probably about 3-4 stone overweight for my age and height and I do smoke, but I am managing to cut down. I always feel like I struggle to breath but my peak flow is around 600 mark and my oxygen level is good. I do suffer anxiety though and my breathing

Apologies -Loperamide Liquid Oral solution Discontinued
My post should have said Loperamide Liquid Oral Solution has been discontinued. I have tried taking half of an instant melt Imodium which wasn’t very successful so I will try to get tablets (as opposed to capsules ) and break up! Not sure why the liquid has been discontinued!

Does peak flow increase in non asthmatics following ventolin?
Say someone has no classic symptoms of asthma (wheezing, breathlessness or coughing). Peak flow has always been low their whole life but has a small variation everyday (290- 330). Spirometry is normal (including above average fev1). No change in peak flow following a 5 week steroid inhaler trial. Can

Salt - serum sodium
I have just had my two monthly blood test. Whilst my ESR and CRP are within the normal range my serum sodium is 130mmol/L. (133 - 146.00mmol/L). It has been like this for the past year or so and everyone has ignored it 'til now. I am not one for pills unless I really need them like prednisolone. Can

Probiotics and Peak Flow Improvement
Hi folks, I want to share this experience I am having with taking probiotics, which has been hugely beneficial to me. I started taking probiotics to help my digestive system, which was constantly angry and uncomfortable and absolutely nothing to do with my asthma. Probiotics can replace your gut microbes

New to T3, advice please
Hello there, help please! Results listed below....I have always been symptomatic with Hashimoto's, diagnosed 2019. Was on just levo for years but after DIO2 testing and conversion rate of t4 to t3 being low I was started on a trial of T3 in march 2023. I always have blood testing between 8am and 9am.

Costochondritis
I had a bad cough with a chest infection (in my opinion). The third time this year. On previous 2 occasions, I was given 30mg pred per day for 5 days and an antibiotic, and chest cleared each time. I have been in contact with covid, but have not had +ve test. This time I was not given, I was refused

anyone tried low dose naltrexone for fertility?
Hi there, I'm just come across Low Dose Naltrexone and the LDN Research Trust and it seems to work miracles on both fertility and autoimmune conditions (I have hashimoto's - auto immune underactive thyroid) and have been trying to conceive naturally for almost three years. I wondered if it's something
