Smelling Issues
What I really mean is I'm smelling bad. Any guys out there having an issue with an odour from the groin area? Though it was jock itch from chafing but Tinactin did nothing. Shower daily but still there. Used an antiseptic wipe and stung bad. Not sure if it's Parkinson's related but I thought I'd check

Rheumy Update
He wants me to try another short course of 20mg Prednisolone, there should be at least a 50% improvement with pain, if it doesn't happen then it is definitely Fibromyalgia or both. I dont need to worry about ESR results. If the steroids works then its a 2yr course alongside water therapy and CBT for

After coronavirus, another hidden respiratory disease lurks in the buildings we left behind.
Global outbreaks of coronavirus have forced the closing of schools, gyms, offices and other buildings at a scale never seen before. Now, as countries start reopening after lockdown, those previously abandoned buildings could have become a breeding ground for another infection – Legionnaires’ disease.

New AF episode. Shall I take Adizem?
Hi all, I would appreciate some opinions or things to consider at this moment. I haven’t had a persistent episode of AFib for 18months when I had first prolonged episode. At that time I was eventually put on Adizem which brought my fast heart beat down to 48-80 and seemed to allow my heart to re-regulate

Obstructive sleep apnoea: mandibular advancement device helps against daytime sleepiness.
With the help of a mandibular advancement device (MAD), daytime sleepiness of patients with obstructive sleep apnoea can be relieved. Treatment with an MAD is not inferior to positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy with a sleep mask. This is the conclusion reached by the German Institute for Quality and

Why do I feel so tired still when I wake up in the morning?
I have Graves’ disease and taking 5 mg of carbimazole recently reduced from 10 mg. I’m feeling a lot better than I did but never feel like I’ve had a good sleep. I wake up tired! My sleep is broken through the night sometimes but still manage to get at least 6/7 hours. I’m due a blood test next Monday

Has anyone taken this drug, Tikosyn dofetilide? Or heard about it? It is an antiarrhythmic drug used to “help keep the heart beating normally in people with certain heart rhythm disorders of the atrium (the upper chambers of the heart). Tikosyn is used in people with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter

Melatonin & PMR
I am having trouble sleeping for the first time since going on prednisone 8 months ago. I know part (maybe most) of the problem is since reducing to 7 mg I have pain in my shoulders so wake up frequently to turn over. Wondering if melatonin at night would help. Information online seems to indicate it

Another bright SPARK
As I write , I am newly brim full of BIIB054 after 2 months missed due to "le confinement" as the lockdown is called in France. Nice to be back with my team. And to get topped up. Mrs WTP is convinced things became worse when the perfusions stopped, although after a confusing few weeks dabbling with

You're not my real mom! You just give me drugs (legal doctor scripts, so chill).
I hope you all forgive me because I think I'm hilarious when I write my titles but I am also usually exhausted and a little punch drunk from a long day. I got scolded this morning from my psychiatrist when she called me to see how I'm liking my new antidepressant prescription. Do you remember when you

Dry very itchy eyes
I think I have posted for advice re. eye problem before and for a time was taking Hycosan, hycosan extra and hycosan night which provided quite a bit of ease. However no longer working...anyone got any other suggestions?, opticians only dealing with emergencies at present.

Latest Update - Post Surgery during Pandemic
Hi All, Just thought I'd post an update. I ended up opting for the double mastectomy, and had the surgery on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th). Considering the hospital was already in COVID-19 lockdown mode, I'm glad I went ahead with the surgery since now most surgeries are postponed. Also the plastic

Mirapexin Prolonged-Release
I am back on the DA's. I have now been on Prolonged-Release Mirapexin (0.26mg) since 1st April and have been more or less RLS-free ever since! I hardly dare to say it. Before that I was on 1200 mg Gabapentin which did not work very well as I had to complement with Co-Dydramol every night. And before

Zytiga and stomach pain; pain relief cocktails
Hello, guys. I haven't been on line much, as we've had a rough couple of months. We went to Europe in early January. My husband had some pain, but got through the trip beautifully. A few weeks after getting home, he picked up a produce bag at the grocery store and snapped his upper arm bone. He's since

Duloxetine
I was prescribed this on Tuesday, 30mg to start with. However I have been feeling quite drowsy and dizzy and have spent most of the last 2 nights awake for 3/4 hours at a time. I'm not sure if this medication is any good for me. I have also read alot about this since I was given it and have heard a lot

Serious case of PLMD
Hi everyone! First off, I dont really have restless legs syndrome, but I have something very similar called Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, which causes severe jerking of the legs as soon as I lay down to fall asleep! It is terribly disabling. Clonazepam is the drug of choice for this disorder, but

Seeking wisdom from those of you that have "been there done that"
Greetings! I hope you are all well (as can be expected) and safe! As I am nearing the end of my chemo treatments - 3 more to go! And will be needing surgery in the near(ish) future, how does one decide which surgery is best? I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer back in October. I had

Surgery and RA
Hello all, I’m relatively new here and really excited to find a lively and helpful community who know what it’s like to live with RA. I’ve had RA since 2004 and my symptoms are mostly under control with a combination of Benepali and Methotrexate. That was until Jan when I had to come off for a mastectomy
