Alendronic acid and mental health
Morning all, I was wondering if anyone else experiences a surge in anxiety symptoms on the day they take AA. I definitely feel my mood nose diving in the day when I take it. The next day I feel weak and exhausted. Then gradually better until the next week. I am speaking to my GP later on today. I have

Dexa results, awaiting GP advice, osteoporosis and Alendronate
Having been diagnosed with PMR in March this year (currently tapering to 8.5 Pred on DL's 5 week slow taper, all going fine) I requested a Dexa scan before making a decision about Alendronic Acid, which GP had prescribed at same time as prescribing the Pred, Lansoprazole & subsequently Evacal D3. Hi all, This is my first post on this forum, so please be gentle! I was diagnosed with osteoporosis late in 2023 and started taking alendronic acid 70mg in Feb. I was also prescribed a statin for cholesterol around the same time. For the last few months I've been suffering from painful shoulder

I am female, aged 71 and a UK resident.Early in 2023 I experienced significant and prolonged upper back pain, followed a few weeks later by similar lower back pain. X-rays revealed fractures at L1 and L4. After waiting some time, a DEXA scan showed 'severe' osteoporosis. I am now on an annual programme

Hyaluronic acid test anyone?
Hi there all, Quick question - I've just discovered - been delving into my husband's medical notes and letters that he had a hyaluronic serum test just back in June. This was because the liver doctor was bemused at his fibroscan result which she says showed no cirrhosis. Now, I know for a fact that

Having a bad one today. Thunderstorms and wind yesterday, more rain today. Headache and body pain. Took an arthritis Tylenol, magnesium and malic acid and it hasn’t subsided. ☹️. After I’ve had something to eat, I’ll take an Advil. 🤞😶🌫️

Alendronate has been prescribed by my rheumatologis. She has requested I take a "time-out" period. Does anyone know the usual length of these prescribed time-outs? Carol

4 months after laparoscopy pain comes back
hi all, it's my first post here... i had a laparoscopy in April, stage 2 endometriosis, couple of cysts (one excised, one drained). I had the hormonal Mirena coil inserted during the surgery as I was told this is the best solution to prevent endo from coming back. First two months were full of spotting

Tranexamic acid after having surgery for a knee replacement when I’m also taking sinthrome
Hi all, I am currently in hospital after having a knee replacement. I have two mechanical valves after having open heart surgery in Feb 2021. I take Sinthrome instead of Warfarin, as I was losing my hair, so was switched by my surgeon. Anyway I am currently recovering from a knee operation. The

Please share protocols, diet, repurposed or natural supplements for aPC!
Hi all! I've been reading and texting a few members of this great community, but couldn't get an answer, hence I am posting this questions here. I am searching to find the best protocol for my dad, he is 68 years old and has Gleason 9, some mets to pelvic nodes and possible ribs. He is since March

Can’t bear that CPAP mask - try a didgeridoo!
The articles that pop up when you’re not really looking. How about a didgeridoo to help with sleep apnoea? I wonder if other wind instruments might help. It’s an old one… https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1360393/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

blood tests and zoledronic acid infusions
I recently asked for a blood test in-between my zoledronic acid infusions to see how my calcium levels are, I got a text from a gp to say that I only need a blood test 2-7 days prior to my infusion, it's good to know if I am still absorbing calcium I do not take a calcium supplement,

blood tests while on zoledronic acid infusion.
I recently asked for regular blood tests while on zoledronic acid infusions, a gp sent me a text to say that I only need blood tests a week before the next infusion, I wanted to see if my calcium levels were ok in-between infusions, but no.
