Any one on Ibandronate? Am OK for first 3/4 days then for a few days feel achy, tired and just lacking energy. Does this improve or get worse? Been on them 5 months now. Score T-3.7 in forearms

osteoporosis and Ibandronate
Hi Jill, I'm nearly 70. I was put on ibandronate in 2020 (I'd had breast cancer and am taking tamoxifen. I was told they were a better combination than alendronate and tamoxifen). I suffered from fatigue for about 3 years but I put that down to the continuing effects of chemo/ radiotherapy/tamoxifen. But I've never been sure. Last October I noticed the fatigue had lifted, but I still have less energy than I used to. Or at leat, have bursts of energy and get busy for a day, and then need a quieter day. My sister, who is a little older, finds the same so I think that may just be old age. So I don't know if it's ibandronate or tamoxifen or my age that's making me tired.
After that long-winded ramble, I think it may well be ibandronate that's making you feel tired and I'd be interested to read of anyone else's experience, minus the cancer treatment effects.
I have read online that the effects do ease.
I found that pacing myself helped. Don't try to do too much and listen to your body. You will learn when you are pushing yourself too much, and know when to ease off. I've learnt to settle for doing less, and not to feel resentful about it. I feel lucky to still be here and am fit enough to enjoy my life.
I was on Ibandronate for two years. No problems or side effects. As we age we do slow down - do the best you can. Eat well, exercise daily, keep moving and get good sleep if you can.
