Estimating the Number of Men Living with Metastatic Prostate Cancer in the United States
New study below [1]. The U.S. PCa estimates for 2023: 288,300 new cases & 34,700 deaths. For every PCa death there are 7+ cases not dying of PCa. Metastatic PCa accounts for most PCa deaths. Non-metastatic PCa accounts for those who "die with it, not of it." Years ago, I estimated the number of

Lung Surgery Cancelled Twice
After an incidental find of a 19mm lung nodule and a clear PET scan in late October my respiratory consultant was sure it was a slow growing cancer caught early and recommended, which was agreed by me, that rather than a biopsy I go straight to surgery for a lung wedge resection to remove the nodule

Strange 😱foot and hand side effects while on capecitabine/Xeloda.
I am a POC (son schooled me saying it means person of color — millennials!). Well I am a Black woman with MBC. I have had unusual horrible experiences while on Xeloda! Instead of getting blisters and burns on feet and hands the bottom of my feet are darkened turning the color black ⚫️and so are my hands

Ultrasound Scan Results
Hello. I just received provisional scan results which show a huge mass on the liver of 11cms x 7 cms and also one on the kidney of 7 x 6 cms. Urgent CT scan to follow; but no symptoms and I feel well (start from the worry)!! Hard to believe.

Just finished my PC radiotherapy sessions, last Wed. My 'diet' an absolute nightmare, after evening meal, toilet duty is top of the list!
Usually after the evening meal, no matter what I eat, my toilet rules the roost! I was treated for adenocarcinoma grade 7, after biopsy last June, 20 sessions. Told to keep off "fruit and veg" probably two weeks some sorts of normality return 'a bit', but everyone is different? [u]Any suggestions, banana

Hi all, My mom (65, diagnosed this summer with Stage IV NSCLC) is looking for someone who also has the EGFR mutation and is taking Tagrisso and would be interested in connecting with her for support. If that's you, please feel free to reach out! Thank you so much. <3 Kelly

oesophageal cancer / PET scan
Hello, my relative had an endoscopy which found an 8cm tumour and they’ve taken 10 biopsies. He has w PET scan in a few days. 8cm seems big and I’m unsure where this puts him in terms of prognosis/spread. I wondered how long it can take for results following the PET scan if anyone has experience? Thanks

am I doing the right thing?
I have suspected lung cancer and am waiting for result of EBUS bronchoscopy. I’ve been monitored with CT Scans for the past 18 months. There are 2 suspect nodules that have recently grown. I was supposed to have my right upper lung lobe removed early December. I was kept waiting for approx 8 hours

New to the forum
Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking for suggestions. I've been reading the forum ever since I got my RP back in October. I was really hoping to be done with this, but unfortunately it looks like my PSA is starting to rise again. (.11 last check) Looks like I'm reaching a decision point, or at least

BTF Webinar on Thyroid Cancer
The BTF had a very good talk on thyroid cancer https://www.btf-thyroid.org/Event/meet-the-experts-webinar-thyroid-cancer . I’m away from home so will not be able to respond much to questions. I submitted a question about T4 promoting cancer, they said they would answer it but didn’t in the talk.

in ovarian cancer limbo
Grateful to hear everyone’s experience. I’m Stage 3c, had major debulking, 6 rounds carbo/doxil, in remission about a year, on Zejula with minor side effects. The big challenge for me is more psychological/emotional than physical at this moment. The uncertainty weighs on me and my carer.

Day 3 on Xeloda
Fed ex was supposed to deliver my Xeloda Wednesday morning. That's what the specialty pharmacist and my onc's nurse had told me, and I even got an email saying it was out for delivery that morning. My husband put off some things he'd planned to do so he would be here to sign for the first delivery.
