Covid Antivirals
I know some people are eligible for these. I’ve been exposed to covid and I’m pretty sure I’m about to get it, ironically for the first time also. I don’t have copd but fairly full on chronic bronchitis. I’m concerned that it’l be a rough dose . Whats the criteria for getting antivirals for covid?

Bizarre Diagnosis
So, I got the HRCT results back and no bronchiectasis - yey! But I got a really weird letter from the Consultant saying that the diagnosis is therefore chronic bronchitis, which she never mentioned in her chat with me. I looked it up and chronic bronchitis is a form of COPD. Except... I only have one

Covid Booster - For Info
Hi all. Just to let you know I had my 8th Covid Jab yesterday (6 Pfizer and 2 Moderna so far, yesterday was Pfizer), managed to book appointment using the app no problem but what I did notice was 2 things. A/ Much less choice of vaccination centre, I ended up driving 23 miles. B/ More stringent checks

A positive journey so far, awaiting transfer on Sunday!
I wanted to share my goodish news and hope it doesn’t upset anyone or come across as over confident. I say “goodish” because I’m aware we’ve still got a long way to go. My partner and I are having ICSI at the moment after trying to conceive for 3 years. We did our egg retrieval this week. They collected

2017 all over again
I tried breaking this cycle in 2017 and now I'm back where I started, man mental health and depression is a lonely cycle and now I'm dealing with people stalking my house. Fighting so hard to keep myself in a positive space, but the environment as well as this day and age we're living in is very tough

struggling with ET symptoms after covid
Hi all. I was diagnosed with JAK2 positive ET 2 years ago and up until early this week I was injecting 180mg of interferon weekly. My platelets have hovered around the 800 mark for some time so during an appointment with an MPN specialist they suggested changing my medication to Anegralide. Before mid

Is it safe to have another Covid vaccination?
A month after having my 4th Covid vaccination & a flu jab in September ‘22 I was diagnosed with PMR - coincidence probably? Anyway, I’ve received my invite for a 5th Covid jab ‘as my immune system is compromised’. As this would be my first vaccination since being diagnosed I would be interested to

Newbie to the group.
Hi all, I’m new to the group although 6 months in on a PMR diagnosis. My symptoms started in April 2020 2 months after as knee injury, both my shoulders at first, I couldn’t even get a cup off the side, couldn’t lay on my side or touch my shoulders. I thought that it was over use. My GP prescribed

Covid
I am lying in hospital having been here for one month and having just had Covid. I had had PMR for 3 years and back up to 15 mg when back stopped working, had deep sciatica like pains in back and legs and could not rise from pillow nor walk to bathroom. Daughter dialled 111. My O2 of 85 got a 999 ambulance

Update - I saw rheumologist today
Hello all, I saw the rheumatologist today after being referred by respiratory consultant last week. The ‘take home ‘ was in a nutshell the rheumatologist has ‘low concerns but not zero’ . He believes I have had pneumonia from a covid infection at Christmas I didn’t realise I’d had! He’s reassured that

Covid vaccine number 7
Hello everyone, I’m going to have my seventh covid vaccine next week, I take the Jak inhibitor Filgotinib. My white cells and neutrophils occasionally dip but nothing spectacular. My question to the community is, is there a limit to the number of covid vaccines one can have? Thanks everyone:)

COVID and/or vaccine-induced PMR
Hi everyone, I met with my rheumatologist recently and she said some interesting things about what she and other rheumys in her department are seeing with regards to COVID-induced (and COVID vaccine-induced) myalgias, including PMR. Basically, what she said is that the patients she sees who present

Fresh versus Frozen ET & implantation issues
Hi All, first time posting myself here. My partner and I are planning to start our 4th ICSI round in the next month or two. For context, I'm 41 in November, no fertility medical issues myself apart from age now and BMI of 31. It's a male factor infertility due to poor morphology, motility and number.

I don’t believe it!!
I was all set for a speed run this morning; only 3 long runs away from HM. I don’t usually run on Fridays but my Thursday run had to be postponed because of a friend’s funeral. She was a lovely gracious human dynamo of a lady from church who won the Queen’s Award for volunteering. She didn’t run, but

1st full blown flare on Tocilizumab….😞
Yesterday at about 10am I started to get mild pain in my left foot, cuboid/metatarsal joint. It became more and more painful as the day progressed, till I was limping badly. I have been getting very minor flares for months, the roaming pain kind of thing where it hits a joint, hurts for a wee while

Amy Callaghan MP’s VAT BURN campaign
Amy Callaghan MP’s VAT BURN campaign calls on the UK government to remove VAT from sunscreen products that have a health benefit. We should all know the health benefits that a “quality” (i.e. SPF 30+ product with a minimum 4 star UVA protection) sunscreen has on preventing the UK’s most common cancer

complete medial and minimus gluteal tears.
I’m currently booked in to have my gluteal tears repaired. I told the surgeon I had PMR but he didn’t seem very interested. I’m just worried whether my shoulders and other hip will withstand the 6 weeks on crutches required. Also is there any evidence that the tears are caused by taking pred. im currently
