Latest Consensus on Omega-3, Aspirin & Curcumin?
So in finishing up my deep dive into supplements, these were the three I had the most trouble making any definitive personal conclusions about so I wanted to do a review before putting them to bed to get any last input. My general feeling is without well-designed long-term studies (not retrospective

CoQ10 Good or Bad? Necessary? Reaching a Conclusion, Coenzyme Q10, Statins, Prostate Cancer
I've reached the point of exhaustion on research. I feel I have a good a reasonable good grasp on everything, except CoQ10. And interestingly out of all the drugs and supplements discussed in this forum it is one discussed relatively much less than virtually all the other supplements and drugs. It's

Really bad neck and upper back pain only two days in of taking simvastatin 20mg/day
I did try atorvastatin nearly a year ago and got muscle and joint pain within a few days, then I stopped taking them. The GP persuaded me to try simvastatin on Tuesday, by Thursday afternoon my neck and upper back were so painful I couldn't turn my head or move my arms without a lot of pain. I didn't

Review of Top 10 Prescribed Drugs and Their Interaction with Dental Treatment
Yet another paper which hints at quite a bit - bit then is behind a paywall. If anyone has access, just knowing the outline of what they say could be very interesting. We have had many question the impact of thyroid issues on their teeth and dental treatment. [i]Dent Clin North Am. 2016 Apr;60(2):

Hashimoto's, levothyroxine intolerance. Help please anyone?
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in February 2021, following a routine blood test, and put on 25mcg levothyroxine and was fine. In June 2021 my dose was increased to 50mcg. Again, I thought I was fine, although in hindsight, I think I may have been having side effects, but due to working etc missed

Numb feeling in toes
I’ve recently started having a numb feeling in my toes. I notice it more at night, in bed, but I think it’s there in the daytime too - just not so conscious of it. Toes are not cold. Could it be a side effect of Bisoprolol? (I take 2:5 in the morning / also Ramipril 5mg, Simvastatin 40 mg, Ranexa 375

Just been given Ezetimibe 10mg
I am allergic to Statins so won't/can't take them. In fact other drugs always give me muscle problems even Finesteride damaged one of my Hamstrings. My figures are: HDL=1.27(-) LDL=3.5 5.5 overall, as baseline (I have not started Ez. yet). I am on Clopidogrel and take B12 supps 1000mg. Interested in

Oral B12 Update
I last wrote a post about 11 months ago in which I was exploring the use of oral B12 while waiting for a specialist appointment. Dementia meds and levo
Hi, my friends mum has been recently diagnosed with dementia and is now taking donepezil 10mg . She has been taking Ezetimibe for cholesterol and levo at 75mcg for years and always took her levo over an hour before breakfast. At the dementia clinic they told her to take all 3 with breakfast, obviously

Not All Statins Are Equal
Many people quote what dose of statin they are on but not which type. The table shows the reduction in LDL (bad cholesterol) for different statins and doses. Before you ask I am on 40mg Atorvastatin as my student liver (🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺) couldn't cope with 80mg! Fluvastatin: 20 mg/day, 21% reduction

Feeling rubbish
I received a letter from the Lipid clinic on Christmas Eve telling me my cholesterol levels had increased and advising I add Ezetimibe to my arsenal of drugs. I phoned GP to discuss, and it was agreed I could increase my Atorvastatin from 40 mg to 60mg. My request as I was reluctant to take something

Burning legs a statin side effect?
I started statins approx 2 yrs ago following a diagnosis of CVD. It’s hard to put a time on it but I’m sure that it’s since then that I started with burning legs. I’ve changed from Atorvastin to Simvastatin because I’d also started having discoid eczema. The eczema on my legs seems much better although

Dapagliflozin
Following my Cardiology consult just before Christmas my cardiologist increased the dosage of Bisoprolol, changed my Simvastatin to an increased dose of Atorvastatin, but left my Ramipril as before. New addition to the regime is Dapagliflozin as I am borderline diabetic also. Do any of you take this
