The valleys between the knuckles on the back of my left hand are swollen, bluish and reddish. There is no pain. I am 46 and eat simvastatin.
In bright light it felt like the skin inside is bleeding and the valleys are puffy mountains of skin. One knuckle of the index finger is covered with hardened dark skin. Rest all knuckles are normal in color and texture. This condition happened in summer of 2013 and then vanished. Its re-occurred again

I have been taking atorvastatin for nearly 6 yrs after it was found my cholesterol was 9.5 . family history of heart disease etc
I moved and my new doct decided atorvastatin was to expensive and put me on simvastatin ,all the usual side effects etc ,then a new doct came into the practice and I opted to join him ,he put me back on atorvastatin but at a higher dose 40 mg as the simvastatin hadn't worked and raised my cholesterol

HELP!! Anyone had a problem with Statins and leg pain??
Has anyone had a problem with Simvastatin and muscle pain in legs? My GP put me on them for my cholesterol (it is high!), but within a week I was getting pains in my lower legs/feet, I could hardly walk never mind run! I decided to go back to week 1 so that I didn't put too much strain on my muscles,

To all my ibs sufferer colleagues - my GP has given me Simvastatin (to lower cholesterol) as well as all the ibs meds I have to take. So...
Has anyone suffered with nightmares and insomnia when taking these 'statins', I was ok for the first couple of weeks , then felt the usual (ibs) nausea, diarrhoea, bad taste, set in but was made worse because of the awful dreams and inability to go back to sleep - awful. Does it sound familiar to anyone

Hydroxy
whoop whoop. Just completed my first week on Hydroxy to accompany the asprin and Simvastatin. No random side effects to report. Long may it continue :)

Alternate day statin medication
First, a brief history. I am 68 years young. I have been taking Amlodopine to treat hypertension for some years, my blood pressure, which I monitor at home remains at an acceptable level. Last June I experienced a 'pins and needles' sensation for 30 seconds or so down my left side in the midst of a blinding

Hi, I am diagnosed and being treated by the nhs for sleep apnea and Mitral stenosis. My meds are Nebivolol, adcal d3, simvastatin and apixaban. I am also exhibiting most of the symptoms of hashimotos. My symptoms and metabolism vary from hypo to hyperthyroid and back over a 6 week period. Although none

I have been taking citalopram, mefenamic acid and omeprazole but have now been prescribed clopidogrel and simvastatin after a recent TIA.
I understand omeprazole reduces the effectiveness of clpidogrel. Should I stop taking the omeprazole?

Fed up of being messed about by the NHS
About a year ago I had a couple of nasty skin infections so I went to the GP for antibiotics and she ran a comprehensive set of tests. As it was before christmas, I didn't bother ringing up for the results but went back because I still had a boil and saw a trainee GP who told me my cholesterol was 8.2

RLS has a secondary Symptom
Since my early teens ive always had what i described has fidgety feet and have never been able to sleep with my feet under the duvet...This was never a real issue, just something I lived with. In my late teens, early 20's this disease became a real nuisance and started to effect my hands. It was mentioned

Is it possible that Simvastatin 20mg taken daily for a year could now be causing terrible leg pains - so bad no painkillers help?

Anybody on statins who's got problems getting off to sleep
Was on simvastatin for 5 years after a TIA in my left eye. My artery was absolutely clear of clots so it wasn't clear why it had happened. My father died of a heart attack at 49 though and my siblings and I all have high blood pressure which I have now under control with amlodipine. Also lost 5 kg. GP

Another " is this normal" question.
After a few months of very little AF activity, I'm now having a bit of a rough time of it feeling quite ill a lot of the time, light headed and aching neck and shoulders but no noticeable heartbeat extra activity. Have been diagnosed AF/SVT for about a year now and am on 10mg Bisoprolol, 50mg Losartan

I started Simvastatin one month ago and have reacted positive to the cholesterollevels of LDL but have musclepain. I am not sure it is the
statin. The doctors seem to think it is a treatment of APS/Lupus. I also have warfarin. What is your opinion to this new drug? Thank you! Kerstin

Cholesterol and CKD oh the Joys!!!
We moved back in May and had to change our doctors. I was very apprehensive due to being at my previous surgery for years. I have not been feeling well the last couple of months off and on and after my sore throat episode and recent pompholyx, which has eased a little now on my feet, I thought hopefully

AF Symptoms?
I have recently started to experience pains in my neck and shoulders, with a little "stich like" niggle under my heart, along with feeling quite ill. Am on warfarin, bisoprolol, losartan and simvastatin. I have had a few good months up until now, really disappointed as had began to feel "normal" again
