Travel insurance with Asthma
Has anyone else been quoted crazy prices for traveling with asthma? The only thing that seems to control my asthma is sunshine or at least reasonable weather, insurance companies are looking for over £500 for a two week trip and my asthma is currently under control ish.

My asthma is almost under control with symbicort. The only issue I currently have is that the drugs seem to run out slightly early in the evening - not really a major problem and does not happen everyday. Do not need to use ventollin as it is only a mild occasional problem. My AN says she had been advised

Newly diagnosed with brittle asthma and exhausted
I have had episodes of asthma since I was at school. I have had tough year, after going to see my daughter's new house, previously owned by a cat lover. I was there only a couple of hours on Mothering Sunday, back in March (UK). I am still struggling. I have been back and forth for asthma appointments

Bad spell of asthma
My partner has had asthma all his life but has been well controlled as an adult. Since January he has suddenly had problems. He was taking salbutamol & lowest dose seretide. He has now been increased to Seretide 500 & given atrovent inhaler & a nebuliser. How often should he be using the atrovent nebules

Super sensitive
Hi all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I had asthma as a child for years and it magically disappeared when I reached my teens. It came back with a vengeance in my late 20s and I started to experience my first ever attacks. Unfortunately my asthma has never behaved in the standard way. I

Post op intimacy struggles
Hi all, sorry for an awkward post, any advice would be helpful... don’t feel I can ask anyone else as they don’t really understand. So 6 months ago I had invasive endo surgery.. and a second op 10 weeks ago to reverse my temp stoma affectionately called Stella. Needless to say during the last 6 months

Does anyone else find being on their laptop triggers asthma attacks?
Hello, pretty new to asthma, was only diagnosed a year ago & even then it wasn't clear-cut, but the nurse said "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck ..."! A heavy cold which started 10 days ago was basically responsible for triggering my asthma off, but now I seem to get an attack every time I'm

Asthma & Acid Reflux,
Has anyone suffering acid reflux and asthma read the book The acid watchers diet and found their asthma and/or reflux has improved. Are presently going down this track as my previously controlled asthma (one ventolin a year required when having a chest infection) to now (past 3 yrs) being on Symbicort

Physical anxiety increases, can’t breathe at all
I’m really scared, no breathing techniques are working, breathing issues still there,
severe
as usual. Respiratologists could not find any diagnosis, no
asthma
whatsoever.

Hi everyone
After a couple of years of being told I have copd I have had the diagnosis changed to
severe
asthma
and that I would be treated with regular injections. I was just wondering if anyone has had this treatment and how well it works. Thanks

The horse is dead! (A follow up from my last post)
I did call auk and my spec hosp
severe
asthma
line for some support too, which did tell me that I wasn’t being too demanding asking to try something different 😅

Kelp to help asthma
Has anyone had benefit from taking Kelp to help their asthma? As my asthma had taken a downturn I have spent a fortune on supplements to help! Tried most things ! Then about 2 weeks ago I started on kelp capsules, taking three a day and not the recommended one a day! They seemed to make a big improvement

Asthma App
Hey guys! I keep a symptom and salbutamol diary in the notes on my phone but it’s getting a bit messy and cumbersome. I’ve tried downloading some apps to track these and it is much easier, however I haven’t found an app that I’ve really fallen in love with. Does anyone here use an asthma app of any

Brittle asthmatic struggling
I have been trying for 3 weeks to call
severe
asthma
unit about my steroids and the test and they never answer or ring back so I will just have to go and explain. My asthma is debilitating daily waking me up every night and all the gp does is say increase prednisolone.

Injections to control asthma
I've been on the usual meds to control my asthma and now my consultant (at Glenfield, Leicester) is putting me forward for monthly injections to replace all the meds. Anyone have experience of this?
