Asthma App

Hey guys!

I keep a symptom and salbutamol diary in the notes on my phone but it’s getting a bit messy and cumbersome. I’ve tried downloading some apps to track these and it is much easier, however I haven’t found an app that I’ve really fallen in love with.

Does anyone here use an asthma app of any kind that you found useful and if so, what it’s called?

The one I’m currently using is simply called “Asthma” but it’s a bit clunky and I can’t retrospectively add symptoms etc.

Thanks in advance!

Mine is just called "Peak Flow", free from the app store. I record the peak flow number and then there's space to make notes for symptoms/med lists. It then creates a graph for each month, and shades green/orange/red as the points on the graph go up and down which can be quite useful at appointments as a visual aid! You can also mark whether the number is pre- or post-medication.

The graph doesn't show the symptom notes so you have to read back on your own record. The app doesn't do anything super whizzy but I have found it very useful.

Hey! I took a look at this and although it is great, it’s not quite what I’m looking for. However, I’m sure other people on here will find it a help for them :)

I use this one and have found it fantastic. I always put in the comments part my sats if they are down and any other comment. When doing the post medication peak flow I put in the comments which medication I used. Although on the chart it doesn’t show the comments, if you print it off or email/text the report it shows all the readings and the comments. For any appointments I take the latest print out and it shows trends really clearly with the detail behind it. My local asthma nurse has been getting many of her other patients to use it too as it is far more clear a picture for her than a few peak flows written on a scrap of paper.

Asthma UK has a resource page on technology. I am older and use the old fashioned paper and pen, but there seem to some possible helpful reviews.

I’m using asthma md as an app and it’s really good I can see over a week that my peak flow is up and down. I can see my asthma plan and it prompts me which step is next

Hi, I too have been downloading app but have not found one that: inputs peak flow, inputs medication, keeps track of puffs per inhaler. Have you found an app you like?
