I was referred to royal Brompton cons' he suggested not all symptoms were asthma so had a challenge test - said I have hypersensitive airways (which I knew). Was then asked to have a Mannitol test - reacted to first dose, needing x3 nebilising to sort asthma attack out! Now stuck between cons' and local cons' - asthma not stable GP trying to contact them for advice as asthma now not stable! I feel no one is listening to me, feel stressed and anxious with it all which is not helping! Cons' in London suggesting have exercise test - when is he just going to agree that I just have asthma, seems to be looking for other answers!

It is such a difficult situation when we are caught in the middle. That’s where joined up communication is so needed, yet sadly rarely happens! You end up having to fight for everything and co-ordinate everything yourself when you are at your most vulnerable.

I wish I could give you the answers you need, but sadly all I can offer is support and understanding that sadly this is not unusual.

The NHS could save a fortune in appointments, admissions, A&E times and medications if they could just get on top of unstable conditions. (And that is even taking out of the equation our quality of life issues that we have to manage whilst waiting for appointments!)

I do hope you get answers very soon and wish you well x
