Has anyone done sublingual immunotheray (SLIT) or the injection style (SCIT)? Did it make you feel terrible/set of your asthma symptoms?
Hey all, I started SLIT (grass+ragweed) in November of 2022. I was feeling find before I started it (just on my asthma control medication + no symptoms/sleeping well able to go about my life), but since I've started taking it have found it sets off my asthma (mildly, so I'm taking more rescue inhaler

I learnt something last week which is worth sharing. I had to go to a and e a while ago when on holiday. It was at a big city hospital and a couple of days after leaving hospital they asked me to return and see a respiratory nurse. I was keen as my gp practice has lost its asthma nurse, which is probably

Reaching out.
I am struggling with moderate/
severe
COPD with
asthma
overlap, which can be awkward to treat, as reacting to tree pollen. Using Trelegy at present, as experience reduction in horrible wet wheeze. Have rescue packs, used for 3 chest infections over winter, but thankfully no pneumonia.

Emergency Medications
I recently had my second very nasty asthma attack in six weeks. I could feel it coming but neither gp nor hospital team nor later 111 would ring back or talk to me as my readings deteriorated. So I had my attack at 2 in the morning on sunday, and 999 sent out paramedic with nebulisers which stopped

5 Year old with asthma
Hello all. My son is 5 years old (6 in February) and was diagnosed with asthma 3 years ago. He was a very normal healthy baby boy. When he was age 2 he started getting sick literally every single day after he ate any type of food. For a year they gave him steroids and he gained a lot of weight. At age

GP said I’m having an
asthma
attack (

chronic infections and trying to be a primary school teacher
I am with Barts
Severe
Asthma
Clinic. Lots of steroids too. I am looking into taking early retirement from teaching on medical grounds. I will still be able to do another job and am training to be a counselor/psychotherapist evenings and weekends.

Life After Colectomy - Colon Resection
Hello. Can anyone tell me realistically their experience after colectomy- colon resection surgery? I have been offered a left hemicolectomy and want to know what the true recovery is. Surgeons are minimizing the recovery and say once healed you will probably not notice anything. I have a hard time

From 4 mg of Prednisone to 240mg of Solumedrol.. in 30 hours....
I have chronic
asthma
and haven't had a
severe
asthma
attack for 13 years. Who knows maybe all my prednisone was protecting me. I've been tapering slowly and last Wednesday had a routine visit and was coughing a little. It turned out my
asthma
was very
severe
an in spasm.

Is my asthma nurse correct?
Hi everyone! During my last check up, my asthma nurse said that bronchiectasis came under the umbrella of COPD. I replied that it didn't and was a separate condition. She wouldn't have it, and I didn't want to waste valuable appointment time arguing. Is she right? I'd appreciate people's opinions on

COVID symptoms Paxlovid prednisone how long until feeling better?
I have
severe
persistent uncontrolled viral-induced
asthma
and (so far) this is the first virus in 2 years that I haven’t been hospitalized for. I am now done with the antivirals. I am still very fatigued, I have a congested cough, some shortness of breath and I have some odd muscle achyness.

Asthma and Covid Experiences Please!
Hi, so after feeling pretty rubbish yesterday with a sore throat, spiking temp and barking sounding cough, today I have tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow after avoiding the damn thing for 3 years! I have asthma, so am understandably worrying! I am waiting for a call back from GPs as my peak

Trimbow eligibility??
I’ve been on varying doses of Seretide for 8 years now and it’s been one of two constants in my treatment regime, through thinking I had
asthma
to
severe
asthma
to not asthma at all, and the other constant has been Atrovent or Spiriva, essentially depending how I’m feeling 😂 I’m 24 lol I wanted my medication
