Pregnancy first trimester
Hi, thank you for acceptance. I'm new to the forum. My question is... I'm one month pregnant and I use seretide inhaler. I have been worried if it will affect my baby. Please, anyone with such experience? Thank you.

How fast can an attack come and go?
Hi, I’m newly diagnosed with asthma; less than three weeks. I take Seretide 500 and Ventolin accuhalers. Manifestations of my asthma so far have been very textbook: coughing, tightness, shortness of breath, and whistly wheezing. A couple of days ago I was spraying bug-spray, something I’ve done thousands

NEW MEMBER. ASTHMA AND A LOT OF DOUBTS
Hi there. I am from Spain. I've been diagnosed with alergic asthma when I was 4-5 years old. Now I am 37. I also have anxiety, and my nose it's most of the time blocked in one of both holes, or both sometimes. Using Avamys for this, but don't seem to do anything. A nasal band aid works better for me

Seretide 500 not lasting long enough
Hi, I’m taking Seretide 500 twice a day. While it works, it works well, but after about 9 hours I start to have a return of symptoms. By 12 hours they are becoming full-on symptoms on some days, with wheezing and broncho-constriction etc. Is it possible to take Seretide 500 three times a day, or are

Preventer still not working after a month
Hi! I have been using Seretide 250 as a preventer for a month and I still feel the same. I know that it can take several months to see the full effect but I thought that I would at least start to feel a little improvement. I still have to use ventolin several times a day and my nebs three times a day

Salbutamol inhalers and repeat prescriptions?
I've been asthmatic since childhood. I consider it well managed even if I need to use my Ventolin inhaler on top of my preventative Seretide one almost on a daily basis. I have various triggers from both extremes of weather, exercise, dust, allergens and traffic pollution. Today I've attended an asthma

Can antihistamines help during an asthma flare up ?
Hi everyone! As I am still struggling to bring my asthma under control, I was wondering if antihistamines (desloratadine) could potentially ease the symptoms or stop an ongoing attack that has been lasting for hours if not days ? I am very concerned about my asthma right now because I am going through

More Positive
Today I am feeling more positive (although that feeling is up and down each day!). I had a 30 minute brisk walk along the sea wall, no inhaler needed and no real breathlessness. I then went and signed up for the local gym for the swimming pool and Pilates classes. And finally back to the allotment

More Breathless
This is going to sound daft. I have been taking the Seretide 125 inhaler for 6 days now and I have a Salamol inhaler for when needed. I actually feel more out of breath than before I was diagnosed. I catch my breath when talking, I used to be able to walk for miles on the flat, now I am struggling

Mild COPD with Seretide 125
So things are getting confusing. My FEV1 is 70% which by any UK guidelines I have read is moderate. However my patient notes state all the spirometry results and declare that I have mild copd (which I am happy to accept!). I have been put on Seretide 125 twice a day and Salamol. I spoke to the BLF

Hi Everyone, Sorry for my panicky posts over the last couple of days. I had my first dose of Seretide last night, had a good night’s sleep and feel so much better this morning. In fact my chest definitely feels easier and my head ‘fog’ seems to have lifted (is it that quick or is it psychological?)

Long acting beta 2 agonists or inhaled steroids only ?
Hi! As I've posted here before I've been suffering from an asthma exacerbation for 5 months now and I am still struggling to get it back under control. I am currently finishing a second short course of oral steroids and I'm also using seretide 250 (4 puffs everyday). The majority of the doctors I went

Asthma attack
At around 3pm our dog chased a bird in the garden, and I jumped up quickly and ran to catch her. Within seconds, I started to get breathing problems, and got into the house as fast as I could - which only made it worse. Went for my Ventolin and it was so bad that I couldn't manage to inhale any. I was

Mast Cell Stabilisers
Not being able to tolerate steroids without very debilitating side effects, I'm still looking for something to add to the Uniphyllin 400 & Ventolin (plus just one small dose of Seretide 50). Asthma never bothers me through the night, and I'm fine until I start moving around too much ...more energetic

Foot cramp
Has anyone experience foot cramp (more so at night) with certain steroid inhalers? I never had a problem until I was doubled up on my Seretide and even when I was changed to Fostair the cramps have continued. Before I make myself sound crazy at my appointment next week, I thought I’d ask in here.

Does the body get used to ventolin ?
Hi! I've had a horrible time with my asthma during the past 4 months and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting any better right now. As a result of this, I've started to take more puffs of ventoline (sometimes more than 10 in one day!) otherwise I couldn't do anything. However, I noticed that

combisal versus seretide
Is anyone else finding that combisal is not as effective as seretide? I have been having lower peak flow readings with combisal. Also it is harder to press down so that the metered dose is not accurate.

Peak flow reducing on ICS
Hi, can anyone tell me why my son's peak flow is lower since using seretide? His highest is 210 and he's just been gradually getting lower over about 4 months and had now been consistently around 150 about 2 months. The only time that it has gone back up is when he has had ibuprofen.

Paper thin skin?
When wasI first diagnosed in 2006 I was prescribed spiriva and seretide, then, 2 years ago I was told that the seretide had been replaced by forstair. I had always got on well using seretide and was a little disappointed when it was replaced. ( no one told me why, I still don't know). what I do know
