Sorry for my panicky posts over the last couple of days. I had my first dose of Seretide last night, had a good night’s sleep and feel so much better this morning. In fact my chest definitely feels easier and my head ‘fog’ seems to have lifted (is it that quick or is it psychological?). Anyway it’s not 0800 and I have just worked for an hour on my allotment without getting bright red in the face (and looking the same as the tomatoes in the greenhouse 😂). Thank you for all your support over the last couple of days, you really don’t know how much you have helped 😀

Any panic you have had is understandable especially if you have used Dr Google. I hope that like me, you will soon get used to it all and fall into the routine of taking your meds (on time) and exercising. The same goes for breathing techniques, eventually you will get used to having to breathe differently, getting short of breath and not even thinking about it.
You are lucky to have been diagnosed early, you have time on your side. Some of us do not get diagnosed until the severe stage and really get thrown into the deep end. I was first diagnosed with an FEV1 of 37% as well as a load of other conditions, including lung cancer, all caused by smoking.
I am sorry that you have had such a tough time 2greys but your positivity is wonderful. You are so right, I am now going to accept it, do the right things, learn from this group (not Dr Google!) and get on with my life 😀
That is the spirit. To be perfectly honest there is no sensible choice other than to accept it and make the best of a 'bad deal', there is no cure at the moment, but there is hope.
So glad you feel a little better PurpleAlf . I tried loads of inhalers and none of them worked, I have bronchiectasis and think these dont give the relief as they do for other lung problems, but must admit that Seretide is one the really helps. Having an allotment sure helps with the exercise and vit d, along with having all that healthy fresh veg and fruit. The fact that you had a good nights sleep makes all the difference to how you feel. Onwards and upwards x
I love my allotment and have been struggling to work on it. Managed to keep on top of it but coming home bright red! Now I feel a bit calmer and breathing easier I am sure that it is going to help. Little and often is now the motto!
