Sucess stories needed x
Hey all, I've lost 3 babies and would like to try again a year since the last one, I have been diagnosed with hughes so they will try me on heparin injections along with low dose aspirin, I have two questions... Will the chances of me having a healthy pregnancy increase with this method, and secondly

My story from birth to now.
You could say I was a miracle when I was born, I was three months premature and weighed just 1lb 10oz. Thinking the worst the doctors told my parents to prepare for my journey to heaven. After a majour operation to fix a problem with my heart by taking a vein from my fraile foot it was starting to look

Hi all I had my baby girl on 28th oct 2012 at 10:5pm weighing 4lb 7oz a quick induced labour at 34 weeks as despite being on aspirin and heparin the blood flow to baby was poor. Yrs later I developed MS symptoms, but I don't fit the MS criteria-spine lesion in unusual location,no eye symptoms, no

Thanks for comments.
Well, I had another series of episodes this morning. Each lasting about 1-2 minutes - for a total of about 20 minutes all together. Yes, I have had several MRIs and an MRA. All were normal. For a long time it was thought by many doctors that I had MS. I am on Plaquenil as well as Warfarin. I am

1 Year and Counting
In June 2011 I started having unusal movement episodes - very similar to seizures, although I was always aware of my surroundings before, during and after each episode. My episodes usually start with eye blinking, then sometimes to jerking motions in my body and head. I have had many EEGs - 24 hour

Anticoagulation and Surgery
I recently encountered a new, unexpected and worrying reason why patients on anticoagulants should self manage their medication if possible. Having been on warfarin for 15 years due to a mechanical, aortic heart valve I took control of managing my medication and INR monitoring 13 years ago. I recently

Coincidence! Two weeks ago there was a newspaper article about a young mother who had had a stroke. Perhaps because of one's own particular interest, I wondered if she was one of the army of previously undiagnosed patients with Hughes syndrome. A week later I was asked by a neurology colleague to

The Olympics arrived in London. The weather held and the organisation worked like clockwork. One of the most successful aspects for me was the clever choice of venues, highlighting the beauty of London – Greenwich Park (horse riding), the Mall (cycling and marathon), leafy Surrey (cycling), Lords

What are the alterntives to Warfarin if one faces a life time on it (age 46) for PVT and MPD. Heparin intolerant so that is not an option.

We do NOT have APS. We have AUTOIMMUNITY!
I've been seeing a number of posts lately regarding unfortunate experiences with doctors, poor treatment protocols and severe symptomaic APS sufferers. Most of my posts focus on addressing causes and not symptoms. And I would like to once again encourage members of this forum to take a holistic approach
