Anyone with PCOS and Endometriosis have any sort of bariatric weight loss surgery?
I've been diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis and have been taking metformin for about a year now. My weight has become a huge risk on my health at this point weighing in almost 300lbs. My doctor referred me to a bariatric surgeon to discuss weigh loss surgery options. I am also highly anemic and low

Fasting sugar 7.15am 127 consistently in spite of all the diet control and a tab of 500 mg metformin sr. No clue why as it is not supposed
to be so. Today I got up early at 5.00 am and thought of checking. It was 109 at 5.15 am. Watched TV for next 2 hrs and checked. Surprise 127 at 7.15 am. If this gives an indication that while 7.15 am level appears high, at 5.15 am level is under control (given the -ve tolerance of meter) All

Started metformin
Should this join together with my thyroxine and give a good weight loss??? Can't tolerate fatty food already, only started it yesterday!!! The metformin has been prescribed to suppress my appetite and sort my hormones out. I'm not diabetic!!

Metformin and RLS
One of my cousins said that she has had RLS for the past 3 years. She gave me an article that discusses RLS and Metformin (a diabetes drug) I thought that I would pass this along because she wants to know if anyone else has had this same problem. She is on Metformin and has been for 3 years. Here is

had appointment with Endo today, no surprises there then.
I am self medicating N.D.T. and for almost 2 months have felt wonderful compared to the previous 25 years of no help from N.H.S. The Endo could not provide N.D.T. or Levo. In fact he encouraged me to stop the N.D.T and go back onto the fluoxatine (prozac). How I kept my face straight, I do not know.

How do you cope with Gabapentin side effects?
I've been taking tramadol, naproxin, amitriptyline, gabapentin, ducosate, senna and metformin for a number of years now. Considering the number of tablets I take on a daily basis, I'm lucky to not really suffer from many side effects, although the ducosate and senna are obviously prescribed to counteract

Hypothyroidism and Diabetes 2 doctors
My underactive thyroid was undiagnosed (finally!) 10 years ago. A few years ago a doctor diagnosed pre diabetes and last year I crossed into diabetes 2 (only diet and 1 Metformin per day). I want to know if other members were referred at some stage to an endocrinologist or depend solely on their GPs

Hi I have an very painful spinal problem, which stops me lying flat.as a result my legs are swollen and blistered cant have op any advice
I have type 2 diabetes controlled by metformin and statins. I have a spinal problem which has got very painful, and I arranged to have an operation (privately) which was arranged for 07/01/2014. As it is too painful to lie flat, I sleep in an armchair, and as a result my legs have swollen with water.

Does anyone know what the situation with having IVF if on partner already has a child?
My partner and I have been trying for a baby for a while and got referred to a specialist middle of last year. I had the blood test and my partner did his sample before our appointment with the specialist. She put me on Metformin and I was expecting to have to have more bloods before our second appointment

has anybody been offered medication for impaired glucose tolerance?
I recently visited my GP to discuss several awful reactions to food I have had over the last 3 months and the increasing amount of food I am unable to tolerate. Initially I was (I think) diagnosed as NCGS but given the episodes over the last few months and me becoming very sensitive to particular foods
