ICS/LABA Inhalers
My wife’s doc’s are talking about changing her to these types of inhaler. At the moment she carries a salbutamol inhaler for flare ups and uses serevent and ciclesonide (Alvesco) inhalers and is on itraconazole for an aspergillus growth in one of her lungs. Anyone on these inhalers and have they found

high dose ventolin
Hi all!I was just wondering if anyone has come across this previously. I finally went to my asthma nurse and she thinks that my asthma is even less controlled than I suspected I know this is bad and I need to take it when needed but when I'm in need of my ventolin, if I don't get it, the need

keeping inhalers at the correct temperature
Please can you tell me how you keep your inhalers at the correct temperature. The inhalers I am on are fostair, salbutamol and titropium. None of them should be stored above 25 degrees but can't seem to get the temperature down in the house yet after the very hot weather. How do you all manage

Just tested positive for Covid. Feel shocking!
Hi all, I’m a generally well controlled asthmatic on seretide 250 & salbutamol. I had a bad headache come on at work yesterday (nurse) so tested when I got home which was negative but I didn’t feel right at all. Slept awful, did another test this morning and deep purple line came up straightaway.

What makes the Asthma Nurse a specialist nurse?
Yesterday, I had my first Asthma review since returning to the UK 18 months ago. My peak flows were 325-300-300 The nurse said that these were fine and to continue taking my Relvar Ellipta but change from Salbutamol to Bricanyl This nurse was also the diabetic, thyroid, HTN and HF specialist. I don’t

Looking for alternative to inhaled steroid
I am seeing a pulmonologist for allergy induced asthma. I am in late stage 3 kidney failure and cannot take oral steroids. I am allergic to Albuterol so the doc prescribed Trelegy but it has caused an ongoing case of oral thrush because of my low immune system due to poor kidney function. I have asked

PMDI to DPI
I've been on Ventolin (Salbutamol 100) and Becloforte/Clenil (Beclometasone Dip. 250) in a self managed plan for 31yrs and asthma nurse suggested changing to DPI Easyhalers as it's more environmentally friendly. These are Beclometasone 200 and Salbutamol 200. I have asked GP why Bec. is 200 and am told

Montelukast
Only thing I can recommend is since using montelukast I haven't had to use my salbutamol inhaler. Good health and hope it improves.

Hayfever and asthma
Really struggling at the moment with hayfever / asthma symptoms. Inhalers help for a short while but it’s really effecting my quality of life currently. I’ve heard hayfever in the U.K. seems to be affecting a lot more people every year being particularly bad this season. I’m at the point where i don

Review of Top 10 Prescribed Drugs and Their Interaction with Dental Treatment
Yet another paper which hints at quite a bit - bit then is behind a paywall. If anyone has access, just knowing the outline of what they say could be very interesting. We have had many question the impact of thyroid issues on their teeth and dental treatment. [i]Dent Clin North Am. 2016 Apr;60(2):

PeakFlow Readings
My peak flow readings never seem to change and I’m a little confused. My last one recorded at my GP surgery was 290, My dr wanted me to monitor my peak flow readings. There currently between 350-250. I currently have a Salbutamol inhaler a Fostair Inhaler and Montelukast daily. I’m not noticing much

COPD symptoms
Hello everyone, I’m feeling really down tonight. I get out of breath when getting dressed or having a bath and even walking from my house to my car (about five metres). My husband and son don’t seem to realise how difficult it is for me and my son even thinks I exaggerate my ‘hyperventilating’ (his words

Do you have to use Salbutamol before inhaled Colomycin?
Hi, Does anyone using nebulised Colomycin for Pseudomonas also use Salbutomol before the nebulised Colomycin. I was given this at the hospital but I am getting a horrible panic type jittery and shaky reaction from it. I have tried the Colomycin without it and feel much better. I’d appreciate knowing

Switch from Azithromycin to Doxycycline
Hi, I have severe asthma and pseudomonas infection for which I’ve been put back on Colomycin nebs following an infection that wouldn’t resolve, but did after I asked my GP if we could try a course of cipro (they didn’t try that first as sputum sample didn’t show pseudomonas). I’ve had to switch from

Can Albuterol be used everyday ?
I take Qvar twice a day. I find that Albuterol makes my breathing easier but have read that you should not use it everyday.

Late onset asthma confusion
I am aged 50, I’ve never had any problems with my chest before. I had a chest infection in December. I was given antibiotics, steroids and salbutamol inhaler and told that there was a possibility I might have asthma. My symptoms improved with the treatment. But the tight chest and sporadic cough have
