Asthma attack lasting days
36 year old with what I thought to have been well controlled asthma my whole life. Seretide twice a day and salbutamol twice a day for as long as I can remember and never any problems - play lots of sport etc. Monday evening my breathing was constrained. Blue inhaler wasn't relieving it. Wednesday was

New Dr. Update
So, I went to see an immunologist on March 22 and she ordered a bunch of labs to check for food allergies and inflammation and some immune workup along with IgE Respiratory Panel because I have trouble catching my breath at times especially after climbing the flight of stairs to my apartment. She did

So I'm now on week 7 of steroids unable to wean. My peak flows are still unstable and my chest in constantly tight. I still can't walk up the stairs and I'm trying to preserve and do normal things with my little girl but then end up in s mess by the end of the week. Sorry for the rant but does anyone

Feeling rubbish again
Had a visit to the emergency doctor today, been feeling really poorly since Friday. I spoke to my surgery asthma nurse on the phone because I couldn't get to them and she prescribed me some antibiotics as I had a temperature and a very painful productive cough. Audible wheezing causes by anxiety?
Hi everyone, I've been struggling with this shortness of breath, trouble breathing and audible wheezing for over a month now I've been to several doctor's who have said my lungs sound clear and my radiograph looks fine. During my last visit my PA suggest it was caused by anexity is this possible? Because

So since being discharged from hospital I've done everything they've told me. I've tested taken my salbutamol inhaler regularly. But since decreasing my prednisolone my peak flows have dropped to about 70-80%. I saw the respiratory nurse yesterday for my allergy testing I came up positive for quite a

Hospital vs GP Spirometry
Hi all, hope you are doing ok. I wondered if anyone can tell me the difference between Spirometry performed at the hospital and that undertaken at GPs. Had one at hospital today which was completely different or so it appeared. Wasn't given salbutamol, so curious as to difference/rationale. Many thanks

The drugs
For some time my COPD had been getting much worse. I had sudden episodes where I was totally helpless and was gasping desperately for a breath of air. This could happen up to 5 or 6 times a day. Eventually, after an emergency call for an ambulance, I was admitted to hospital and spent a week there during

Newly Diagnosed
I was given a working diagnosis of asthma last week after 3 weeks of very varied peak flow readings (done at home as requested by my doctor) and a prescription of salbutamol for use if needed. I am grateful for a diagnosis as I've been having these same issues for around 7 years but they never got bad

Increase in severity of asthma
Hi everyone, I am new here but glad to have found this forum. I have had asthma since I was a baby and it has always been really well controlled. I would get a chest infection in the winter and be given antibiotics and usually recover within a week or two. Not this time. I became ill last November

Sudden Chronic Shortness of Breath in Young Healthy Adult Male (Mystery Diagnosis)
Hello, I am a 23 year old male who first started experiencing symptoms on July 1, 2016 (about 7 months ago). I was in prime physical condition with 9 hours of outdoor carpentry daily, 3-4 days of calisthenics a week and 3-4 sessions of 30 minutes swimming across a lake and back. I had a history of asthma

Exacerberation
Hi I'm trying to hang on till drs opens to avoid going back to a and e, following last night's visit. My chest X ray was clear which supervised me because it feels I have fluid on the lungs. I'm constantly coughing after several days of vomiting up white foam and thick yellow mucus. Now mostly dry

Wheeze in morning
My 18 month old has been waking up wheezy the past 5 days requiring salbutamol inhaler. She's then been fine the rest of the day. She's not on any other medication. She has a very chesty cough but well in herself. Do you think it's worth a trip to the gp?

Hello
Hi my name is Paula and I have a 7 year old daughter who has had asthma since the age of 3. Thank you for having me in your group. I felt it would be helpful to join a group of 'asthma experts' to bounce off occasionally. I find I have more questions than answers as time goes by. My daughters asthma
