Changing from MDIs to DPIs for the environment
With
Salamol
I have not had the same experience - it seems to take longer. Thus I have become even more reluctant to go for walks if I have to rely on
Salamol
if the need arises.

Salamol doesn’t work for me! Is anyone else finding it less effective than Ventolin?
Hello asthma buddies, Ok.. so while I’m all for saving the planet, I’ve been told my new blue inhaler,
Salamol
, is a CFC free equivalent to Ventolin. If I order a repeat prescription for Ventolin I automatically now get a
Salamol
. This happens at all phamrmacies I’ve tried.

Managing occasional breathlessness
Recently I was changed from Ventolin to
Salamol
. I am fine with that in principle, but I have had mixed results when using it. With Ventolin I know it starts to kick in after 10-15 minutes, but the first time I used
Salamol
it seemed to take far longer than that.

Severe shortness of breath
I took two puffs of the blue inhaler (
salamol
) but was really struggling. ( I tried to keep calm, pursed breathing and telling myself to keep calm) I took another 6 puffs of the inhaler which did not help at all. I was wheezing and really struggling to breathe.

Anyone else had problems with Salamol CFC-Free MDI Inhaler 100mcg
I was given this in place of ventolin. From the start, it seemed like a ventolin inhalor when it's blocked (slow and sluggish to spray) two weeks in and hardly used it just stopped working at all. My doctors surgery have said ventolin is no longer available on the nhs and have now prescribed me airomir

Difficult to Treat, Better Lying Down
I'm on 250/10 Flutiform, 2.5 Spiriva Respimat, Montelukast and
Salamol
. I'm waiting for an appointment with a Respiratory Physiotherapist. I'm very worried. I can't shake the symptoms off. But here's the thing - I'm far better lying down than I am sitting, standing, or moving about.

How many inhalers?
Another question from me...It's been suggested to me that I could add a Flixotide 250 to my medications, which is currently Symbicort 200 (MART but I still use a lot of
Salamol
during flare-ups) and Montelukast. To me, this seems weird (and would that be a High Steroid Dose?)

Ventolin or Salamol
I got a letter from the doctor's office this morning trying to persuade us to go on to
Salamol
since it has a much lower carbon footprint than Ventolin. I've got to reply within a fortnight or they will automatically switch me on to the
Salamol
.

Disappointed
I have
salamol
and trimbow inhalers but still experiencing breathlessness. Very disappointed to be told that they are not allowed to change my inhalers to anything else which could suit me better. Has anyone else come across this ?

Inhaler shakes from Salamol?
Has anyone changed from a Ventolin Inhaler to a
Salamol
inhaler and found they've got the shakes from it? My GP recently changed me from Ventolin to
Salamol
stating that it was better for the environment, fewer greenhouse gases yada yada but I suspect it's mainly cos it's cheaper.

Lung reduction.
I also use a Trimbow inhaler twice a day &
salamol
inhaler as needed up to 4 X per day... I sometimes have to use the
salamol
inhaler more than 4x per day. I was referred for a CT scan which showed chronic emphysema & have been referred for either a lung reduction or Zephyr valves.

Breathless and wheezy
The
Salamol
inhaler doesn’t help at all, the Bradosyl helps somewhat. Sorry to say but the nurse at the surgery who does a telephone check once a year is not much help. Has anyone any advice. The surgery only seems to want to conduct telephone sonsultations.

Copd emphysema
. 😔 She looked at my medications and said I'm on the optimum treatment, trimbow and
salamol
. I'm just really down and know there's many people in the same position and some worse off. I'm sorry for the rant. I won't let this beat me. Frustrating!!!!!! 🙈

Ventolin Vs Salamol
Has anyone else been swapped from Ventolin to
Salamol
? I understand that essentially they are same drug and leave less carbon footprint but is it as effective as Ventolin? Thoughts please, Janzo

My first post, how can I manage sleeplessness caused by asthma?
I'm on carbocisteine, montelukast (I note others have reported this being associated with sleep disturbance), flutiform,
salamol
, azithromycin and avamys.

Inhaler change
I have just been sent a message by my GP to say they are changing my inhaler from ventolin to
Salamol
. Is there a reason for this and is Salamon just as good as Ventolin 🤷♂️
