Kerrygold butter explained. Important for hypos.
Loads of people keep asking me about non-cafo fed cattle, and the butter Kerrygold, which is the only one in the Uk that I know about, which is from non-cafo fed cattle. Here is a very good link to the benefits of Kerrygold butter, No. 1 tells you about the vitamin A importance for thyroid and adrenal

What is it ?
I'm 40 yr old male. In good overall health. Been binge drinker (alcoholic) before, quit 2 years ago. My situation is complicated, so I would divide this post into sections, for ease of understanding: 1) While drinking, my health wasn't at all bad. Used daily supplements: Vit. A 10,000 iu B Complex

Update on my alternative therapies
I wrote a long post yesterday but it appears not to have posted successfully, so forgive me if this turns out to be a duplication. PMR: I have had my fourth low level light treatment. The physiotherapist says the muscles in my back are more relaxed than they were when I started, and certainly my back

Extra virgin cod liver oil, or EVCLO
As I'm always interested in searching for new supplements, I thought that I would try cod liver oil, like my Mum used to give us as kids. Then I happened on the EVCLO, found it to be far superior from what I have read, so going to buy it today. Reasons being, strengthen our immune system, as with Hypo

B12 patches in pregnancy
I don't have any experience but be careful as some of the b12 patches contain other vitamins including vitamin A which can be dangerous in overdose especially in pregnancy. I would advise speaking to your midwife who should liaise with your obstetric consultant if you are b12 deficient and pregnant.

Vitamin A and anxiety
So for the past three weeks I've been taking a Virex thing given by my nutriotionalist and when I had a cold, this really really helped. Anyway, since around a week and a half ago, I started to feel as if they floor was moving. And I thought it was anxiety. But I noticed I got dizzy after taking one

Speaking of the devil...(the flu )
About 2 days after my post "Do colds and flu seem worse if you have PD?", I started getting a sore throat for the first time about 6 months. I took my usual actions (constantly sip hot fluids, massive vit A and D, and zicam) and it was not a problem and after a few days it was gone. However, it did

Here we go again! Next stop - private?
It's been a very disappointing & stressful day. I saw an NHS Endo in July this year, he was nice enough but I didn't get the vibe that he was going to be a lot of help from the beginning. But I managed to get some more blood tests ordered from him with a follow up appointment scheduled for today. Well

Carotenemia?
I have noticed for a while now that my knuckles are a yellowy colour and sitting outside in daylight today it was particularly noticeable. I have just done a bit of googling and found that it may be Carotenemia. Does anyone else have this? It is to do with not processing Vit A efficiently and as I gave

I'm having an MRI WITH CONTRAST next week - what can I expect?
After having hepatitis A, I am coming round slowly, but when I went for the ultrasound scan, the doctor said there was a grey area on my liver, it was inflamed, because of the hep A, but has requested an MRI with contrast, I have no idea what this is. All the doctor said was, that he thought I might

Kefir grains: benefits, is better than yoghurt?
Kefir boosts our immune systems by keeping healthy bacteria in our digestive tract (and remember 80% of our immune system is in our digestive track!). The fermenting bacteria produce lactic acid which heals and soothes the gut lining. Kefir is rich in vitamin A, B2, B12, D, K, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus
