bite and echonocytes at 1+
ET JAK2+ for 18 months. Had sensitive liver reaction to all 3 primary drug treatments, recent one since March is peginterferon at 67 units per week. Liver enzymes started creeping up again (coincidently?) since getting flu and Covid shots two weeks apart in September. Also started taking 175 mg daily

strontium
I’ve recently finished 2 year course of Teriparatide and have a hospital appointment shortly to decide next treatment. I have discussed possibility of Stontium with doctor. Does anyone have experience of taking this? Are some kinds of Strontium better than others and will I have a choice as to what

High B12 - more tests needed?
My SO has several anaemia symptoms - pallor, breathlessness, fatigue, dizziness, nausea etc. GP says the bloodwork is OK despite family history of PA. Blood tests (GP & Medichecks) so far show haemoglobin & MCH a bit below range, haematocrit & MCH low but in range. Serum B12 is consistently high (latest

New to PMR
Hi everyone -- I am new here and have had PMR for about five months now. I can't help wondering if the last Covid vaccine I received may have possibly triggered it, since my symptoms started less than a month after that. (I had already had five previous Covid vaccines.) I was also going through a period

Filter needles for methylcobalamin
Do you use filter needles to draw up your B12? If so, where do you get them? I just received my dry methylcobalamin and normal saline ampules, and I mixed it up but then I started to worry about drawing up glass in the syringe. I'm not sure how likely this is. Is it a big risk to do it without a filter

So girding my loins, GP's in morning,
So have an appointment with GP at 11 am tomorrow. Now this was supposed to be about pain/discomfort ? RA. Of course they are bit sneaky and lots of other tests were included, but we aren't daft are we, we check first. So Thyroid bloods , TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.20) FT4 21.6 (12-22) as usual no FT3

For People With Parkinson's Taking Levodopa Medication: The Danger of B6 Deficiency Is Dire and Vastly Outweighs the Danger of B6 Excess
Vitamin B6 is an essential cofactor for over 100 enzymatic reactions. We need abundant B6 to keep what is left of our dopaminergic neurons as healthy as possible, especially since they are already compromised by Parkinson's. Levodopa medication depletes vitamin B6. B6 is only present in foods in low

Coronary artery calcification, osteoporosis and B12 deficiency- what to do next ?
I have just been found to have coronary artery calcification incidentally when having a Lung Healthcare scan. This information was passed to my GP who wants to put me on statins (Atorvastatin 20mg daily). I have no idea of the severity or extent of the calcification, only that it was found. I don't

GP blood test for B12 - but should other tests be done too ?
I’ve recently been posting on the thyroid forum. I have had frizzy feeling feet, then going up my legs, but it has calmed down a lot quite suddenly. The feet started overnight and would be fine in the day. The feet and legs together went away in the afternoon. I’m not sure this really sounds like a
