hello ladies,

I am 40 plus and undergoing ivf treatment.

I had one cycle of failed ivf/ ICSI and have been taking pregnacare conception multivitamins plus omega 3,6,9 and vitabiotics vitamin d daily.

Could you please guide on other supplements to support egg quality. My Amy is low and have low egg reserve.i have heard about dhea and cq10.

Which brand and which strength worked for you.

I am also current on levothyroxine for hypothyroidism.

thank so much

Hi, I’m same age, same with low AMH and low reserve, same pregnacare pre conception multi vitamins and omega, fish oil, plus extra VD and VE (both liquid), Q10 (British supplement 2 capsules per day) and DHEA( Douglas lab US) 75mg per day(recommended dose by my doctor) , first cycle under down reg for over 1 month now, before down reg, I tried short protocol but poor response, then switched to long protocol with down reg first, I followed the book it starts with an egg, but just don’t know whether they worked for the egg quality

Impryl sorry

to add to avocados post my clinic said impyrl is also getting some positive reviews at the moment. All they reccomend is a multivitamin, folic acid and vitamin D but I added that in with the ubiqiinol and folic acid last round as pregnacare can sometimes give me an upset tummy. Over 40 then q10/ubiquinol is meant to be the 400g I believe rather than the 200g you get as standard in the stores here so had to source on Amazon (or double up).

In all honesty I don’t know if any of it really helps and it can be quite expensive but if you can be bothered and have the cash we may as well try. On the round I had my little boy I had the bare minimum pregnare conception apart from adding in royal jelly (which is good to take generally anyways) but I was only 37 at that egg collection vs 41 now so I guess it more important now than ever xx

Hello ladies,

I have failed my first fresh IVF treatment. Have to prepare myself for a second frozen embryo transfer. I have been for a year on methyl pregnancy multi nutrient and UBIQUINOL. My Ifv clinic suggested to change to Impryl, but impryl can’t be taken with UBIQUINOL at the same time. So I will give it a go and see if this combination will help me out.

Hey sorry to butt in 😊 do you happen to know why not ubiquinol and impyrl at the same time at all? I’m sure I did this last round 🤪🫣 xx

Hi Twiglet,

Because UBIQUINOL is very high in antioxidants and selenium, those substances may induce “reduce stress” that may negate the benefit of Impryl.

Our clinic recommended Proxeed (for him and for her), we supplemented it with CQ10 in the form of ubiquinol, vitamin D spray and oral and vaginal probiotics. Very best of luck!

HiI was just wondering which oral and vaginal probiotics you have used.

Many thanks in advance

Eloquentia profile image
Eloquentia in reply toRobrobin

I used Canesflor vaginal probiotics and Lactoflor for the oral ones. I think they really did help.

Brilliant thankyou. I've been looking at different brands and got overwhelmed with every other supplement I'm needing to get 🥴 do you mind me asking at what point you started canisflor before transfer? X

Eloquentia profile image
Eloquentia in reply toRobrobin

Of course not! I calculated the period so I would finish a full course just before my FET. Very best of luck! xx

When do you start taking the probiotics and when do you stop them?

Eloquentia profile image
Eloquentia in reply toEatPrayLive

Hi! I started taking the oral probiotics a month or so before my FET. Continued taking them throughout my pregnancy and still taking them now whilst breastfeeding. Switched to Bio Gaia ones because they are easier to find and I am quite happy with them. Very best of luck!

Hi, where did you order the lactoflor probiotics from?

I don’t seem to find them.

Thanks you ☺️

Eloquentia profile image
Eloquentia in reply toEatPrayLive

I got them on ebay, they are quite niche. I am sure other probiotics would be just as good :)

Hi EatPrayLive

I had some improvements in egg quality.

I read “it starts with the egg” and followed the advance plan which included supplement such as vitamin E, vitamin D, prenatal (I take Thorne), ubiquinol, dhea, NAC and vitamin C.

I also removed things such as plastic containers, replaced with glass or stainless steel. I also introduced wheat grass shot daily as I heard this could help the “environment”

Before I did this, I had 2 failed cycles, the first 5 eggs collected and 0 fertilised, and on the 2nd cycle 4 eggs and 2 fertilised but then they didn’t make it past day 3.

I introduced the above changes for 3-4 months before my 3rd cycle. My AMH was 11.7, and I tested again before my 3rd cycle and it was 14.2, which really shocked me.

This time we got 14 eggs, 9 fertilised & 6 made it to blastocyst (yay). I have had 1 FET which sadly failed, but I am hopeful one of the others will stick, just got to keep that hope.

I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but it has made a positive change for me so far, so I just wanted to share with you.

Hope this helps you? Xx

Wow.. thank so much for your detailed reply..the supplements have definitely made a difference for you.. I wish you all the very best for your next cycle..”lots of baby dust to you xx

May I know high vitamin e and vitamin c supplements you too?

Savannah9 profile image
Savannah9 in reply toEatPrayLive

yes of course, but please check it over before taking anything as I did research for me, I have a thyroid issue so I adjusted to suit :)

I took daily, Ubiquinol 400mg, Vitamin E 200IU, Vitamin D 4000IU, NAC 600mg

I can’t remember my vitamin C, but it would have been a standard allowance

Everything crossed for you xx

EatPrayLive in reply toSavannah9

Thank you so much for the details

Do you recommend any brand for vitamin e?

I too have high TSH .. therefore taking levothyroxine 50 at the moment for the past two months, as recommended by my fertility specialist.

All the very best to you too xx

EatPrayLive in reply toSavannah9

Which ubiquinol you took?

I just ordered Solagar ones.. but they are pretty expensive .. 50 quids for 50 capsules each being 100mg

Savannah9 profile image
Savannah9 in reply toEatPrayLive

I have solagar vitamin E, but I took health thru nutrition for ubiquinol and NAC, I ordered those through Amazon.

In all honesty it is expensive, and it also takes a lot to try and remember to take the supplements daily. I set reminders on my phone and also had pill dispenser and split it all throughout the day. xx

Hi,

I was in similar situation as you (age 43 and severe DOR). I used vitamin brands using only natural ingredients as it's better for egg quality. I used a prenatal and a mix of other vitamin and supplements. Worked for me as I produced embryos.

I have spares if you are interested (prenetal and the rest). Let me know.

x
