ADT and creativity
I am a composer. Since I had ADT (Eligard - last shot in early April) I have experienced the conventional side effects - hot flashes, larger breasts, shrunken penis, no libido, tiredness. I am hoping those diminish over time. My question is to those who are occupational "creatives" - artists, writers

Looking for any Info for Recent PC Diagnosis
I’m a 62 year old, recently diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. I’ve been on hormone therapy for 2 weeks and see my oncologist in a week. My PC seems to be aggressive and my PSA is off the charts 885! I would love any positive info I can get.

Dosage question.
I was diagnosed with Graves and overactive thyroid forty four years ago. I had a thyroidectomy and started on synthetic thyroid hormone therapy. I’m 69 now and take 100 mcg of Levothyroxine daily, my TSH is 0.291, low. What dose should I be taking?

It is early in the morning and I felt that I needed to tell somebody this info. It needs to be people that can really understand….. that’s where the people in this community come in, since you understand what we go through! Six years ago today I was diagnosed with stage 4, 4 plus 3 w over 25 metastases

Non-adt prostate cancer treatment
I was recently diagnosed with stage 3, non-metastatic prostate cancer: Gleason score 7 (half 3/4, half 4/3). I have had both hips previously replaced. I recently had three stents inputted. I don't like the feel and taste of androgen replacement therapy. Does anyone know of a legitimate entity

Good evening everyone, I’m new to this forum. My somewhat depressing story is in my bio. Anyone had a similar diagnosis that’s further down the line and can offer any encouragement? One tiny bit of more positive news is that since starting the hormone treatment my back pain (which was the only real symptom

Covid advice
Has anybody got any advice on how to deal with Covid when on combination therapy? I've just gone down with it for the first time and I'm wondering if I should just continue as normal. Have a pretty high fever and heart rate...wd the T3 exacerbate this?

To scan or not to scan, that is the question.
I've had my two years on ADT, and now I'm 6 months into my "vacation" (iADT) PSA has hit 2.0, and the plan is to restart ADT when it hits 5.0. Assuming there are no complications, I'm okay with that plan. Also assuming there are no complications, my MO says we won't be doing a PSMA scan, or any radiation

What does ‘neuroendocrine differentiation' mean in metastatic prostate cancer?
My 71 year old dad has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation - he had absolutely zero symptoms until a lymph node on his neck swelled up. It’s metastasised to his lower spine and sternum too. He’s just had his oncology appointment today and they’re going to

When the time comes to stop ADT and abiraterone, for good reasons. Does anyone here have info on abiraterone weaning planning? Including prednisone weaning? TIA

Dealing with the Anxiety and Depression From Cancer
There recently was an excellent discussion about the how to overcome anxiety and depression caused by this cancer. It seemed to focus on the use of medicines and some herbal solutions. While I have no issue with that approach I was going to attach my comments to that thread and had second thoughts for

Sylvia Plath and B12?
Has anyone else pondered on the links here? Although I can find all sorts of discussion about her early stresses, repeated losses and struggle with depression, even chemical imbalances, possible bipolar, not a jot can I find about the B12 deficiency which she would have had at least at one point, even

Old Guy Update
I was diagnosed in November 2020 with stage 4 Ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate. I had EBRT and 24 months of ADT which was terminated in October of 2022. My PSA at that time was undetectable and my Testosterone was also undetectable. It’s now July 2024, and my PSA is 0.2 and my Testosterone is 10

Update on trametinib (Mekinist) for low grade serous ovarian cancer
Good morning everyone We are delighted that NHS England has recommended that the MEK-inhibitor trametinib (Mekinist) should be routinely available as an off-label treatment option for adults with recurrent or progressive low grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC). This is for people who have received

PSA at 0.285
I had my RP last January but the cancers had sneaked out to my lymph node already (no other met) so my PSA was always detectable. I started hormonal therapy last April and my PSA went down right away. It had been that way till this week ( PSA was up and down, the lowest was 0.02, usually was 0.05.).
