Testosterone recovery after stopping ADT - 3
This plot shows the % of men who recovered their original testosterone level after stopping Lupron ADT, plotted versus the time (months) after stopping ADT, for three different durations of ADT (4, 6-12, or 24 months). The curves show that a short course of ADT allows men to recover their testosterone

Testosterone Recovery after stopping ADT -2
This plot shows the time after stopping Lupron ADT for the testosterone to recover to the original level for 50% of men, plotted versus Duration of ADT treatment (4 or 24 months). The longer the duration of ADT, the longer it takes to recover the original testosterone level, which makes sense. For

Testosterone Recovery after stopping ADT -1
Here's the first of four plots showing testosterone recovery after stopping Lupron ADT. The testosterone recovers quickest in the first 12 months, but then flattens out after that.

Thoughts on Denosumab in my case
MO is suggesting Denosumab after my Dexa scan. Bone density normal in spine, osteopenia in right hip and osteoporosis on one part of left hip. I am wondering if with a -2.7 it is possible to control/improve with supplements and weight bearing exercises? What are you taking? Have added calcium. The

PSMA PET Scan Frequency?
Hello forum members. This is my first post but have learned so much here, thanks to the contributors on this site. My husband’s last and only PSMA PET scan was 1.5 years ago showing 6 mets in small bones after PSA consistently rose a year after radiation. The standard ADT treatment was prescribed

A Neophyte's Experience with a Gummy
Some of you might be interested in my gummy experience. I do not advocate anything here, but just want to share a new experience. Outside of four episodes in my eighty-four plus years, I have not used marijuana or other drugs beyond alcohol, coffee, maté from the Pampas of Argentina, and whatever uppers

Full body MRI?
We’ve been reading about full body MRIs and wonder if anyone has had one after radiation treatment for prostate cancer? Can this type of test pick up micro metastases? If the full body scan was “all clear” could ADT be shortened from 2 years to a lower amount?

Zoladex NO HRT
I’m getting t my first Zoladex injection today. The doctor said I can’t take HRT with it because the whole point of Zoladex is that I have no hormones causing endo. I read here that many of you got HRT with Zoladex and I’m confused... I also wonder if Zoladex will be as hard on my mental health as hormonal

Slightly low TSH - have no idea if this means anything?
I am a total novice when it comes to thyroid tests! In January my HRT (50yo female) did not seem to be helping with my fatigue and joint pain so I had a range of blood tests. My B12 and Vit D were low so I have commenced the protocols for those. My serum TSH was 0.40 (0.30 - 4.20) which I see is in

I am a 70 year old diagnosed in 8/21 with G9 on biopsy with initial imaging negative for metastatic disease. Underwent RP in 10/21 with seminal vesicle involvement. A few sampled nodes were negative. 5 months after surgery PSA climbed to 0.39 from 0.016 in first post op test. PSMA PET revealed a solitary

SBRT for radiorecurrent PCa
Does anyone know of current studies on this treatment? Which centers have the most expertise? Also, any studies which report on increased effectiveness with a short term course of ADT before SBRT?

Is it safe to use red light / near infrared therapy if you have Graves' disease?
Hi all, First a little bit of background about me. I am 49, living in Ireland. I have Graves's disease diagnosed by an endocrinologist who did antibody test etc.. After diagnosis I underwent 18 months on Carbimazole and then came off for a couple of months but my T3 and T4 shot back up again (and TSH

Thinking about stopping Xgeva
When my urologist suggested I see an oncologist I was immediately put on Abi and had a Dexa bone scan scheduled. That was August and scan was done Dec. In the meantime he started me on Xgeva because I had been on adt for 16 months. He agreed to 1 injection every 3 months after 6 months even though my

On treating micro-metastatic disease
I watched a video posted by PCRI recently on YouTube. In the video entitled "Treating micro-metastatic disease", Dr Mark Scholz mentioned that undergoing one year of ADT is sufficient post radiation. Thereafter just monitor the PSA for any rise, and use PSMA PET scan to locate any cancer and to radiate

PSA uptick
Quick background, my dad was diagnosed with metastatic PCa in 2018. Initially treated with docetaxel + ADT. His PSA has been at/near undetected (<0.01-0.02) for several years, but recently there has been an uptick to 0.08 (similar on a recheck, so not lab error). Obviously still low-level, but concerning

Reason for ADT
Why is ADT used after SBRT? If radiation kills the cancer or makes it impossible to reproduce, then why do some doctors recommend ADT?

6 months after MRI Guided SBRT at MSK
After a year and a half of Active Surveillance, my cancer progressed to GL 4+3 and I decided to have MRI Guided SBRT in August at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC under the care of Dr. Sean McBride. I had 5 sessions over 10 days and each lasted about an hour. The entire team at MSK was wonderful and
