Son of 14 just diagnosed with WG, any advice?
He fell in on holiday in Greece last week, luckily the medical treatment he received was brilliant, put on dialysis for chronic kidney failure, then plasma replacement to try to halt bleeding in the lungs and methylprednisolene. Air ambulance back to Bristol Childrens Hospital where diagnosis confirmed

Problems with chronic kidney disease?
Hi Everyone, It's really great to have found this site, even though I'm across the ocean from most of you. My question is this: Last fall I had a kidney removed due to carcinoma, was very lucky as needed no further treatment. However, they just found out that I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease

APS is associated with transverse myelitis
Transverse myelitis or TM may be a clinical presentation of APS according to doctors, Hehdi, Uthman and Khamashta. One symptom associated with TM is neuromyelitis optica which causes eye pain. One can be tested for an antibody marker called NMO-igG. Personally, I am trying to distinguish symptoms of

So do we have any positive stories about living with Lupus or do we communicate on these sites to share our woes?
I think this would be a great help to lupus sufferers so they don't all think there is no life after sunlight, or are going to die of

A very difficult decision (children)
The impact on my transplant could be significant, it could mean a reduced life for Kevin (my transplanted kidney) or it could even force end stage
renal
failure
(again). That would leave me with a baby while on dialysis.
