Follow-up to second surgery
Hi all, Just a followup-I hope everyone is doing well as we move into the Holidays. Had my second surgery to remove more tissue and node biopsy. Nodes came back clean and my doctor was able to get a sufficient margin and didn't find any more invasive DC and only found another small area of DCIS (.05mm

Triple negative
Hello everyone again. I have just got back from the oncologist and it turns out I'm triple negative so I now have to have the genetics test to see if it's a gene mutation and if it is then I will have to have double masectomy plus ovary removal so thinking the worst as usual and very teary. x

6 weeks post op - can I drive again now??
Hi ladies, I'm 6 weeks post op after a laparoscopic hysterectomy + ovary removal. When is it ok to start driving again. Is it up to me when I get behind the wheel or do I have to wait for my follow up consultant appointment? Thanks x

Hurrah and Yay ... in November 2011 I was supposed to be admitted for a cholecystectomy, however this coincide with the date of my mother's inquest and the due date of first grandchild so I refused. Surgical Menopause - Thyroid Levels Normal?
Hi! I hope you can help please. I'm struggling to optimise my HRT and am worried that my thyroid levels may be too low and are contributing to my problems. My TSH is 0.72 (range is 0.35 - 5.00)and my Free TH is 10.8 (range is 9.0 - 21.0). If anyone can advise if I need to pursue further investigation

I'm hoping for some advice.
Hello everyone, i'm glad to find a community like this to come to. My mother has just had surgery for bowel cancer (R hemicolectomy plus bilateral oopherectomy although no news on the ovaries yet) 10 days ago. She has done really well and feels emotionally ready for the possibility of chemo but doesn't

Total hysterectomy - resentful
It's only a few weeks since my endo was diagnosed and I've now been advised to have a TAH due to fibroids in uterus, and removal of both ovaries to stop more endo growing ( & the right ovary is badly damaged by cyst anyway). Excising the endo alone apparently wouldn't stop the pain as fibroids would

The big operation tomorrow 💪
I'm going for the full hysterecomy with omentum & lymph node removal in the morning . The operation has been brought forward 2 weeks early I'm excited that things are moving forward but also terrified at the same time. Results will be 2 weeks after to determine what course of treatment I will receive

What to do with lymph nodes?
I will have an interval debulking surgery next week. My PET scan shows NED after 3 cycles of chemo. I had enlarged para aortic lymph nodes initially. I have clear cell histology. My oncologist wants to do laparatomy with complete lymphadenectomy (removal of all pelvic and para aortic lymph nodes). I

Debating whether to keep my ovaries...
Hello All, I'm awaiting a date for my total laparoscopic hysterectomy and am undecided whether to have an oophorectomy at the same time. I have adenomyosis and endometriosis on the left uterosacral ligament and ureter. I had initially elected to keep my ovaries and then panicked, rang my nurse and asked

Little introduction!
Hello all! I just wanted to introduce myself, as I'm newly diagnosed with Endometriosis, and ovarian cysts. I had a laparoscopy on Monday to get a conclusive picture, and they carried out a cyst and ovary removal. Anyway- I consider myself incredibly lucky so far, as my first GP appointment was only

Newly diagnosed cirrhosis
Hi guys, My dad (63 years old) has recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis. He has been in the hospital for 30 plus days and now he has ascites (tap done today), HE (started yyesterda- only one dose of lactulose given) and failing kidneys. He is stable enough for dialysis. And will be starting

Endo after menopause and HRT
Hi All I'm new here :-) Although I've been using this website since being diagnosed for information purposes, this is my first post. I'm just looking for some advice really. I had my womb taken away 8 years ago (when I was 30 - now 38) due to cancerous cells and then 2 years ago I started with pain in

I'm still here
That title has more than one meaning now that I think about it. First it means I'm still alive. I survived gallbladder removal surgery, which went well and from which I'm still recovering. It also means I'm still here following this community and still having a few issues with B12. I feel as if the latest

Porcelain Gallbladder
Hi all. I've done the stupid thing of googling and now I'm concerned. My surgeon told me that my cholecystectomy was very challenging and that the gallbladder had, in effect, died and had become very hard. I see him again on the 31st October when I will get the lab results. He didn't mention a porcelain
