Hi ladies, I'm 6 weeks post op after a laparoscopic hysterectomy + ovary removal. When is it ok to start driving again. Is it up to me when I get behind the wheel or do I have to wait for my follow up consultant appointment?

Thanks x

Hi,

I had the same thing done and my surgeon told be I could drive as soon as I felt able. Think I had a go at 3 weeks and it totally exhausted me. Left it another week and managed a short 10 min trip. By six weeks I was fine.

Think you just have to listen to your body.

I had the same as you. I had my six week check up last week and she said I was ok to drive now x

I had abdominal incision but was OK after 6 weeks, although I could feel it! I just did short journeys initially. 😊

Glad you are feeling more like yourself 😊

I was driving local after 6 weeks, I think they say when you can perform an emergency stop, don't go to far, and increase when ready, xx
