In reply to Amanda with a father who refused a triple heart bypass and has type 2 diabetes. I had a triple heart bypass in 2017 3 months after my wife died.. I do wonder if my wife dying of a brain tumour brought it on. It was not good as 12 months later I had sternal dehiscence and a epigastric hernia

sleepless nights and panic attacks
hi everyone. It’s 5months since I’ve had a stent fitted. It’s been a 2 step forward and 1 step back recovery. Recently, 3 times in the last week. I’ve been waking early hours of the morning and not getting back to sleep. During that time I go from trying to control my breathing to a full panic attack

Cardiac MRI
Hi everyone, Last week I received my MRI result & I’m not sure what to make of it. I’ve got some upcoming appointments to discuss it but they aren’t for a few months yet. It says that I’ve got LVH which I’ve known about for some years, & the ejection fraction has gone up from 45% to 58%, the right

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
Morning all, Four years ago I had PAD in my right leg. As the surgeon found crystalline deposits when attempting to fit a stent it was not possible to treat it that way and I had a bypass operation instead. Since then I have not felt a single pain in that leg But now I am having the same problem in

Cleveland Clinic - Update
So I took the option of going out of area to The Cleveland Clinic in London for my angiogram that I had been pushing for a year, as I knew something was wrong, although the general opinion was that I was fine and I was beginning to think that I was imagining it. If you feel something is wrong don't give

Heart rate and fitness
Having had a coronary stent fitted 9 years ago at the ripe old age of 43 i am now at 52 starting to realise i should be addressing fitness/diet. My question is should i be getting the heart racing during exercise or not,and what type of exercise ? I’ve just bought a treadmill and spin bike but not sure

Ejection fraction
Hi. My husband had a heart attack just over a year ago., with one stent fitted. Had a few ups and downs in the first 6 months, but the last few months he has been feeling really good mentally and physically, and is fitter than he’s ever been. However he had a routine echo a month ago the results of which

ok peeps, I’m after a bit of advice, discuss , as I’m not quick to change which is good. But I do like information. My story is I’ve just gone through 5 years after having 1 stent. And thankfully not had any further problems. After seeing my cardiologist who put the stent in me, and after a nov

3 years post STEMI and CA but I have an odd question
Hi everyone, Just a random question from me before I try to get a GP appointment. Over the last few weeks I’ve been getting what I can only describe as a lack of sensation in both my hands while running. All of my fingers go white, and it’s a feeling you get just before pins and needles, so a slight

Unexplained severe pains after heart attack & stent 4 wks ago
Hi, Looking for others that may have the same pain as I do! I'm a 48yr old female that had escalating symptoms (exhaustion, light headedness, hypertension) for 6 months before my heart attack. I had one stent fitted. My heart attack presented strangely apparently - I had most of the pain in my left

Clopidogrel
Due to come of clopidogrel at the beginning of September, it being a year since I had my stent. Did anyone who was in the same situation just stop them completely or did they wean themselves off. I will have a week's worth of tablets left.

Hi , I had a stent in my LAD 3 weeks , bit of a shock. I am 50 and very fit. Hereditary they think. 85% blocked. 3 weeks on and I'm progressing well. Walking a lot and cycling up to 15/20 flat low heart rate miles. Max 120 BPM. All the drugs are are needed but it's just the Beta blocker, Bisoprolol

Hello . I have recently been diagnosed with Microvascular Angina , following an Angiogram last week, that showed my major arteries are unobstructed. I had a Myocardial Perfusion Scan some months ago , that showed a moderate Ischemia under stress , and a CT Coronary Scan which showed a high calcium

Survivor 52 - my story
Whilst I have posted on others 'story' lines I realise that I've not said anything about my own in one place. So here goes ... In October of last year I had an angina attack, not sure what brought it on. Within a day or two I was in A&E with chest pains and unable to breathe. It passed and I was sent
