Hello
I am sorry to hear your Husband is feeling this way sometimes medications we take can make us feel tired but the thigh pain and as he is diabetic and you say he has high BP which I thought the Doctors would have worked on getting down and needs addressing I would make an appointment and he get checked over and maybe some blood tests for iron etc to
Let us know how you get on x
Hi I’m 14 months post HT and quad CABG I was really fit before and still finding it hard to come to terms with the new me, I can’t walk as far, cycle as far or do anything with out feeling out of breath, chest discomfort or just generally whacked, the heat really doesn’t help. Im still hoping to improve but after being so well and fit it’s so hard to come to terms with what has happened and what we have been left with (I’m only 56)
Good luck with your recovery.
Thanks. The important thing is we are still here and it’s easy to forget the alternative which is the route we were all going. I was told it was a miracle I survived my HT and yet I was so healthy before it. 🙏
Sorry to hear your husband is struggling. Many if the meds we take can cause tiredness but I'd ask the Dr for some blood tests. I've just had a meds review with our GPs clinical pharmacist and he sent me for tests (vit d, iron, thyroid, b12, etc) which highlighted my Vit D levels are too low. Dr texted me on Monday, blood test was last friday, and recommended a daily supplement.I would hope they'd be trying to sort out his BP.
Check common side effects of the medication. We have invested in a blood pressure, pulse monitor. Has he had cardiac rehabilitation. Is he seeing any community nurses, like the heart failure team, or his consultant. If not call outpatients and book an appointment to see your consultant. See GP in the meantime. Sounds overdue for a review. Unfortunately it seems you have to push push push. Good luck.
Hi Victoria,
Sorry to hear about your husbands HA. I am glad he is doing ok and he is doing stuff even though he is struggling with it. I am 43 and had a heart attack and 2 stents fitted just over 8 months ago. I was fit and healthy before. I am not diabetic and my BP is controlled. I have a similar problem with walking, cycling and general life. I have been to see the GP and he didn’t really give me much info. He told me to keep going and keep pushing for a new goal each day. I had blood tests which all came back good. As the patient I think sometimes it’s just hard because you want to do something but you just can’t do it. It’s difficult to then explain it to someone else too.
If you go to your GP and he gives some advice and it works, please share with us all.
Keep supporting him 😊
