Finally home after second angiogram

Well my second angiogram went as I expected and with the outcome I've believed since the first one. That they wouldn't find anything new to pin my ongoing chest pain on...Although once again I've had probably one of my worst attacks ever today.Starting this morning and continuing throughout my stay in hospital and even now as I'm home.Left of chest sternum and exactly the same position on my back.It absolutely kills to breath in..When I mentioned I was worried this was an angina attack in hospital I was asked if I wanted pain killers? First let me say that today the staff have been excellent! But I just felt that didn't know how to deal with angina. So I went down for my angiogram and came out all ok where angiogram is concerned and cardiologist said he was very very happy with the stent and there are no new blockages and all arteries are clear and that I don't have conventional angina? So my pain will have to be now looked at by a specialist who deals with MVA. HOORAY finally they have realised it's microvascular angina or vasospastic angina? So now I will be referred to a specialist of there choice that deals with this condition. Meanwhile I've come home in severe pain and still struggling. I know this is angina and yet I wasn't really spoken to about the pain other than do you need pain killers? Just surprised because I'm in a cardio ward and angina is heart related. I'm obviously not going to call an ambulance bearing in mind I've been in hospital all day! So I'm left a bit bewildered to be honest..The angiogram proved what I thought all along and feel it was done to save egg on there faces and I've still come home in bloody agony...I can hardly breath IN WITHOUT EXCRUCIATING PAIN IN CHEST AND BACK..! I'm left uncomfortable but they just didn't seem intrested in hospital maybe because it was busy or something? I don't know..? Angiogram came back clear and stent still doing a great job and I've now been told I can stop my blood thinners so that's all good...But I'm still left in agony?

Oh poor you rob. You’ve been through the mill that’s for sure. Great news about angio though. Hopefully you’ll hear from them soon and be suffering too long. All the best my friend❤️shiona

Hi i feel your pain. To go through all that and still no pain relief or answers. 😬 I had similar pain the other week and fortunately it happened on the day i had my cardiologist app. I saw him in agony with pain at front shooting through on every breath to the back and also along collar bone and shoulder. Chest was clear when listened to, bp a litle high and when he manipulated my arm the pain went off the scale. Turned out i had muscular pain in the shoulder that triggered down through the muscles around the chest. But the pain was nasty, also costochrondritis (if i spelt it right) also mimicks heart pain and that is equally as painful as i suffered this 3 times, once, believe it or not after doing a stress test on a treadmill and grabbed the rails to steady myself and pulled all around my ribcage ouch. I treated both of these by leaning against a hot water bottle to offers relief to the area and ibuprofen if you can take it. It worked for me.

Other members may have a different answers. You have endured a lot today and all that messing about inside may have caused other muscle stress. I really hope you feel better soon and be free from pain.

Hi Rob, just replied to your previous post then saw the current one.I would have thrown a huge wobbly in hospital and insisted I wasn’t leaving until they sorted my pain out.

I stick those self heating pads on if I get pain, hot water bottles and my electric blanket on high, mind you my kids say they will find me fried to a crisp one day.

Hope you it all sorted soon, make a fuss, it’s a sorry world but those that shout loudest get heard most.

So sorry you're still suffering . You must be so frustrated with the hazy diagnosis and I do hope you get to see a microvascular specialist very soon. I'm currently waiting for a second angiogram result ( told 3 weeks as not urgent! ) but Im half expecting that to be inconclusive yet again... hey ho 😐

Absolutely elliebeth

And so the story continues as I say! I've now got to wait and see who I'm referred to? But I will keep my cardiologist on he's toes with emails haha! It's the only way to get anything done for us heart patients x
