Have a stent

Hi anita here again just wondering if anyone has had a stent put in to help releave pressure on liver as going to kings hospital to maybe have one done.

I had a stent fitted I had it done when I was in a coma and it saved my life 😊

I had to have it adjusted a few months later and they do sedate you midly and they go through the vein in your neck it takes about 30 minutes and it's painless but it does come with the risk of h.e and ascites developing over time but they wouldn't do it if they didn't think you needed it x

Thxs for that makes me feel better, wizh i had that done too when i wss3in a coma too.

May i ask how long u were in coma for

Did u feel different and can u remember any dreaming

Oh you don't want to be in a coma that's why I was delayed getting on the transplant list it takes a long time to recover from one you lose all your muscles, you have to learn to walk again they don't let you eat or drink for about a fortnight after you have woken up because of loss of muscle and I was only in it a month the dreams you have stay with you a lifetime it effects your sleep, memory its awful

That's just like my coma. Couldn't get enough water. I had a walking frame. Yes my dreams are strong too

I know the feeling.

My mother had two stents put in when she was about 83. She came home the same day! She was supposed to have another last year but there was so much calcium build-up they couldn't do it.
