Hello all
Then diagnosed with breast cancer, following surgery and
radiotherapy
my blood tests showed PBC. For years every time I had a blood test the raised enzymes where queried but never followed up. Now at the age of 76 ( a very young 76) I now know why I’m always so tired and my eyes are so sore.

Taking the win...
Well after a weekend of anxiety and high emotional strain, dad saw his oncologist and three months post ADT and radiation treatment his PSA is down to 0.04 from 1.4. This is a win yeah ? Some breathing space anyway...

Men with prostate cancer offered hope by 'search and destroy' treatment
The technique - called prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)
radiotherapy
- has been dubbed a “search and destroy” method of treatment. It uses radioactive isotope, which binds to a protein on the surface of malignant cells, attacking them without damaging surrounding tissues.

Big pressure to have
radiotherapy
but I asked for a second opinion and then declined. I've been tamoxifen since January but my legs have turned purple and mottled. Also, my body feels soo cold all the time even when the weather is good. I don't know if I can continue with this medication

So many unknowns...contradictive answers...i wish i knew how long this journey has left....
Within a couple of days he had more
radiotherapy
. My dad has also been told it doesn't go beyond the knees or elbows or the brain. I know this is rare but it does happen doesn't it?. He is being started on another hormone treatment next week.

Another D-Day commemoration - a story of hope
He subsequently had surgery to remove one lung and then later
radiotherapy
to mop up any possible bits. At surgery they found no living cancer tissue. And he has survived the big C for 25 years - albeit with another brush 2 years ago.

Week 8 & hit the wall
So I got to week 8 which I am pretty proud of since I was having
radiotherapy
in March but I seem to have hit a wall & whilst I made the 25 minutes in week 7 I have only managed the 28 minutes in week 8 - once & that was hard.

ADT and PSA levels
How will we know if the
radiotherapy
has worked (5 days a week for 7 weeks)? His urologist had told him to get a PSA test every 3 months and a PET every 6. Thanks in anticipation. Maria

First 10k race
This time last year had just finished
radiotherapy
and hadn't run at all. C25K has been the best thing that has happened to me and the support here is Amazing.

How long do side effects of salvage radiation last after completing course of radiation?
Still getting severe stomach cramps and diarrhea about every other day. It's been 2 weeks since last radiation treatment. Just wondering what others have experienced after radiation and how long before side effects went away. Thanks

I got my tattoos and . . . unfortunate news
It was a bit of a struggle with urinary urgency issues, but I made it through my radiation simulation on June 17th and got my three tiny freckle tattoos used for body positioning. The following is basically a data dump to my URO so that he could plan the next investigations into my urgency issue: "This

Disappointed in the first visit to MO
Did you ever see a new doctor and come away with the feeling that you just didn’t ‘connect’? I’m still processing exactly why. First, it didn’t seem to me like he had reviewed my chart beforehand. Decades ago, I made a decision to have all my doctors be a part of the University of Texas Health Science

Finally a diagnosis
Initially told mum would need chemo, then
radiotherapy
on her spine but had an oncology appointment straight afterwards and they decided as the cancer was EGFR+ they are treating with tablets and mum has to go in for tests every 2 weeks initially to see how effective they are.

From all I can tell, radiological and surgical options have equal, and generally positive, prognosis for my bundle of symptoms, but am seeking info from anyone with similar bundle who is choosing a treatment or has had one -- especially if you've had combo HDR Brachy/external

with Lopron
