MCH has gone over-range again, but ferritin low at 28, any advice appreciated please?
Hi, written this post twice but seems I did it on the thyroid site, so third time lucky. Issues for both and know they're a very wise bunch too, so no worries! A recent test has shown MCH has risen again to 32,5 (27-32) and ferritin dropped to 28 (23-300). I was confused as to why as thought the low

Hi, any advice please?monthly b12 inj. But MCH bit overange, yet ferritin low at 28?
Hi, Wondering if anyone can help, please? I'm confused as to why a low ferritin result doesn't bring down MCH which is just over range again at 32.5 (27-32). Do you think it means I still need more b12? I have a functional b12 def (have monthly inj) I'm also trying to treat an iodine def (have taken

Dairy-heavy diet linked to prostate cancer risk... Continued
Came across this Australian review of the study [1]. Extract: "Perhaps the review’s most surprising omission is mention of the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) Continuous Update Project report on prostate cancer. This rigorous global analysis of the scientific literature identified much stronger risk

Toxic multi nodular thyroid
Thank you so much for all your replies. Very much appreciated. I have been getting copies of my blood results. Will try to get everything together and post on site. Didn’t know carbimazole could be stayed on long term if doing ok with it. Endo said I could only have it for 18 months because it was too

Further to previous post
It should have read in there that I’m back on carbimazole (hoping to come off it again soon). Also, forgot to mention that my understanding of the definition of a goitre is an enlarged thyroid, but my thyroid isn’t enlarged so I’m confused. Any thoughts? I’m questioning diagnosis, and therefore questioning

Toxic multi nodular goitre
Ultrasound showed no enlargement of thyroid, just heterogenous (bumpy?) appearance with (due to?) small nodules throughout. Negative thyroid antibodies with TPO of 20 (TG antibodies not checked). Different opinions as to cause ie 1. Nodules are producing thyroxin leading to hyperthyroidism and 2. Nodules

Codeine dreams
Hello everyone, I'm currently taking 2 x 15mg of codeine before I go to bed for the pain and also to help me sleep. I find that I get really vivid dreams whenever I take codeine, they are not nightmares but pretty trippy and super disorientating when I wake up. Does anyone else have the same thing

Unbearable pain
Hi guys, I had a lap to diagnose and ablate endo in August, got my follow up in a couple of weeks where I am going to insist I get referred to a specialist endo centre for excision, as I've had barely any relief from surgery. The last few days my pain is getting to an unbearable level. I've considered

Subclinical Hyperthyroidism
Hi all. I've just my results back from the hospital of my CT scan (iodine) and he said the nodule i have is causing it to produce more hormone. He said to me about iodine treatment but in turn could make me underactive. I'm 30 years old and planning to have a baby, will this affect fertility? What other

Endo appointment next week
Hi everyone, I posted back in July to ask for advice on my blood test results. I've since been seeing a private endo, and have more blood test results. I'm seeing him again next Wednesday and want to get some advice on what to push for when I see him. A bit of background, I had RAI in September 2018

Thanks to Everyone for your part here, your God sent.
Just want to say that I have been feeling good, and I’m thankful for this group, I’ve learned a lot, and more with the UK. I’m in the United States and some of the other forums here in the State is not as knowledgeable as this Group. Just to let you all know that hopefully I am in remission even tho

Social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, NA meetings for codeine addiction. Living in west London.
I have social anxiety and panic attacks and go to NA meetings to deal with codeine addiction. I live in Shepherd's Bush, London. I do not meet anyone because of my conditions. Depression is on and off and I'm on medication for it.

Anybody have this? I think my gut is fungus dominant and this is the cause of fatty liver. I feel drunk if I eat carbs or sugar. Taking iodine right now to slaughter my gut flora followed by probiotics and vegetables. Any thoughts?

Should I go to the GP?
I was diagnosed with endometriosis on 10/10/19 via laparoscopy, and had an excision. I also had the Kyleena coil fitted whilst I was under general anaesthetic. Recovery was fine, the first week was very painful, but by the second it had calmed down and I was just tired. It’s now been just over 4 weeks

After years of hypothyroid symptoms a functional doctor has possibly found the issue.
I thought I would update you on my progress. After years of hypothyroid symptoms I seem to be getting some answers. After numerous standard blood tests I went to see a functional Dr who tested my iodine levels and also did an in-depth blood count. Interestingly I came back as iodine deficient and

Hair loss and what tests to do
Hi, I have Hashimoto’s and have started taking levothyroxine, increased a few weeks ago to 75mcg. I suspect I need an increase as feel worse after feeling like I had a little more energy again, but guess I need to wait and test bloods before this happens. I already had dry, fragile hair that was snapping
