Painful lumps, MRI and that What if feeling
With a BRCA 1 status, and history of Stage 1, grade 3 Triple Neg. cancer, I feel a little cast to sea without clear direction as to how to best monitor my body for recurrence. I had a non-nipple sparing double mastectomy and oophorectomy, so I know I've done due diligence surgically. I know this genetic

EAU18 - Copenhagen. Hormone-Naive PCa.
[The European Association of Urology [EAU] annual meeting took place in Copenhagen last month.] The lead paragraph is something of a downer & need not be read - so I moved it to below my signature. I know that some here are interested in oligometastatic PCa. Interesting quote from the end of the presentation

Advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9 with lupron
My father was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9. He had a bone scan last week that revealed 3 bone mets in his pelvis and his psa is currently at a .998. Doctors were shocked about the mets because his psa is so low. They started him on Lupron and Bicutamude under the brand name Casodex

Has anyone tried or thought about trying medical marijuana? Seems to help with seizures and I've taken anti-seizure meds for migraines which helped for a while. Anyone???

EricE is on his way to surgery
Eric is scheduled to undergo a robotic radical prostatectomy this morning. He is not excited about the potential side effects. Especially since the Lupron has already caused impotence. We were both ready to punch his primary care doctor yesterday who was trying to explain to him the side effects of

New study below [1]. This study was mentioned in a side issue that arose in the "Lymph Node Dissection [LND] & Salvage Radiotherapy [sRT]" thread. Tall-Allen had objected to my claiming better survival for radical prostatectomy [RP]. 14 years ago, the online tool I used, showed RP to give me a 10-

Lymph Node Dissection [LND] & Salvage Radiotherapy [sRT].
New Mayo study below [1]. For article, see [2]. When radical prostatectomy (RP) is a primary treatment option, it offers better 10 year survival than radiation. And if it fails, there is always salvage radiation therapy (sRT), which, however, is not offered with curative intent. "Up to 50% of patients

Mucinous diagnosis and scared!
Hi, I had a radical hysterectomy in November and was subsequently found to have stage 1A grade 1 ovarian cancer, and I was told that I did not need to have any chemo as a follow up. I have just found out that my type of cancer is mucinous. I am a little scared and worried because I can't find out much
