Strange blood test results...
Hi all, I think I may have messed up my latest blood test results by forgetting to stop taking my B vitamins (inc biotin) for the week beforehand - these results look very strange: TSH 5.06 (.27-4.2) FT4 11.4 (12.0-22.0) FT3 4.5 (3.1-6.8) I'm on 50mcg levo; NHS tests in January had TSH below 1 and FT4

Prebiotics + Probiotics. Probiotic production of thiamine, riboflavin and folate. Constipation. Aspiration pneumonia & botanical oil.
Here are several different articles about prebiotic and probiotic(s) (possibly in combination with each other). And the final article relates to PwP oral infestation with gram negative bacteria and aspiration pneumonia. 1) Fenugreek as adjuvant therapy with L-dopa First of all, Fenugreek has been shown

I'm looking for additional treatments. GS 10, post radical prostatectomy, post doxytaxl. Currently in an immune experiment with NIH, getting close to the fail point. Would rather not chemo again, but will if I have to. anyone know of anything new/experimental ? I'm in central PA, but can easily

Heading towards a nutritarian diet...
I have made a decision to move substantially towards what Dr Fuhrman calls a nutritarian diet. As far as I understand it, this is one where the ingredients of each and every meal are justified on their nutritional profile, individually and collectively. My starting point is a large mixed salad for

EAU18 - Copenhagen. Hormone-Naive PCa.
[The European Association of Urology [EAU] annual meeting took place in Copenhagen last month.] The lead paragraph is something of a downer & need not be read - so I moved it to below my signature. I know that some here are interested in oligometastatic PCa. Interesting quote from the end of the presentation

Blood testing b vitamins, and other essential nutrients
Hey all. So was looking at the Australian government pathology website in Australia, and they do offer blood tests for most b vitamins, and other nutrients. They likely do in other countries too. If someone has been sick a long time it would be a good idea to get them tested. b1 thiamine- whole blood

Advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9 with lupron
My father was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9. He had a bone scan last week that revealed 3 bone mets in his pelvis and his psa is currently at a .998. Doctors were shocked about the mets because his psa is so low. They started him on Lupron and Bicutamude under the brand name Casodex

A call to upgrade our profiles to help understand each other better
In this forum, I find that I am always comparing what everyone else is taking as far as medication, supplements, exercise and diet. I think this is such a good forum for sharing of information and our experiences with this disease that we are enduring. I think it would be a good concept to share more

Lymphedemajourney
I’ve just had a flare up of my secondary lymphedema due to radical mastectomy and 14 lymph node removal. It will be 2 years May 16, 2018 since my surgery. I’ve been able to control lymphedema with compression sleeve. But now I’ve had this flare up—swelling, upper arm & elbow redness & hot. Also spots

Radical Prostatectomy, External Beam Radiotherapy, or External Beam Radiotherapy with Brachytherapy Boost.
New study below [1]. This study was mentioned in a side issue that arose in the "Lymph Node Dissection [LND] & Salvage Radiotherapy [sRT]" thread. Tall-Allen had objected to my claiming better survival for radical prostatectomy [RP]. 14 years ago, the online tool I used, showed RP to give me a 10-
