Plan of attack after Chemo
I am 17 years in the battle after surgery failed to cure me, Gleason 8, no mets at the time of Surgery. In the past 17 years, I threw every drug in the book at it, including some treatment with Dr Charles E Myers (Leukine, Keto, and estrogen patches) and that gave me a very long remission after Lupron

Hepatitis B vaccine before Ocrevus?
Anyone have to get a Hepatitis B vaccine prior to starting Ocrevus? I was asked to get the vaccine (which is actually a total of three doses; get the first two doses now) before starting O.

I am a newbie on this site...
Hello, my name is Jack and I would like to introduce myself. I am 73 this year and have a beautiful wife, two great grown kids and four grand-kids, ages 12, 7, 4 and 2 years. In 2013 I had a PSA level step change which had been trending upward from the previous year. A needle biopsy indicated T1 prostate

Vitamin B Supplements
I have recently been diagnosed with fatty liver. My blood tests show that my folate is low. My doctor has recommended methylfolate 5000mg with methyl B. Also, methyl folate has been studied for relieving light depression which I somethimes suffer. Will this high dose of B hurt my liver?

Methylation - was gobblydegook but now I'm understanding it
I have received a random email from Dr Mark Hyman regarding Methylation. When I had my legally required counselling with the result of my DIO2 gene test, the counsellor talked at great length about Methylation & she was recommending I take a test to check my methylation. I couldn't take in what she

It came as a shock
One minute all systems working then a semi-collapse and partial recovery in June 2017 and the news of a degenerated cerebellum. Age 73 and a life of sport, one at international level. Doctors should avoid saying ‘cancer’ for minor lesions – study
The Guardian has posted an article on use of the word "cancer" - and specifically questions use of the term for some thyroid cancers. I'd very much appreciate

TURP scheduled tomorrow - concerns
Hi everyone, have this op planned for Monday in UK and wondering if it will help me. I can pee about 50% flow these days and the main reason they want to do it is to get a tissue sample for the Royal Marsden so they can genetically sequence the disease and see if I qualify for any drug trials (no biopsy

Results of conversation with MD and Neuro about constipation and B1
MD stated that after 65 constipation is defined not by whether you pass feces every day, every second day, or every third day, but rather with what difficulty you pass it. The criteria is hard stools primarily. He state that 2, 3, or 4 days apart is not the criteria over age 65. MD speculated that

Prostate Cancer Recurrence-Fiducial Marker Placement ?
PSA starting to edge up after 4 years at zero after a radical prostatectomy . Looking over the paper work given to me at Moffitt Cancer Center, it details the placement of a Fiducial Marker where the prostate use to be. Given that the Moffitt is two hours from where I live, I decided to get a second

AKM Shamsuddin, MD, Ph.D. (Univ. of MD Medical School) invests decades in cancer research and gets results
In 2015, three years after I was dx with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer (two pelvic bone mets, PSA 19, G8), I discovered Dr. Shamsuddin's book "IP6 and Inositol" in my search for anticancer natural supplements. IP6 is a molecule found in every cell of our body. It occurs naturally in many sources

Piper going strong
EricE had his robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy on April 12, 2018, in Seattle, Washington by Dr. Porter. He has recovered nicely except for the impotence. We are working on ways around that. The oncologist and surgeon's offices both recommended a small dosage of Sildenafil or Cialis for blood flow

IP 6
Anyone heard of IP 6? It’s vitamin that’s supposedly helps fight off prostate cancer. IP 6 is part of the vitamin b I think, Anyway my wife thinks this would help to fight off advanced prostate cancer.

I would highly encourage everyone to look at Provenge as either their first or next line of defense. I have had a radical prostatectomy (2010) and radiation plus hormone deprivation (2012). Cancer came back this year and I am starting with Provenage and wish it had been my first choice instead of
