Help with labs after decreasing dose

Hi everyone, looking for some help with labs taken after reducing my dose of Armour rather drastically. To back up, a few months back I abruptly quit drinking alcohol. I then experienced what I would call a mini thyroid storm with many hyper symptoms, and my labs came back with suppressed TSH and border line high T4/T3. I finally found something in my researching that explains this, so I'm no longer feeling like I'm crazy,

BUT, I just had labs retaken that I ordered myself. This is on a mere 30 mg. of Armour taken at 3 am, labs drawn at 3 pm, or 12 hours later. I have been on this dose for about 6 weeks now. Here they are with reference ranges as well:

TSH: 4.060 (0.450-4.500)

Free T4: 0.83 (0.82-1.77)

Free T3: 2.8 (2.0-4.4)

It looks to me like I'm bottoming out and becoming hypo. Thoughts? And thank you! Lynn

What dose were you on before you reduced 'drastically' ? If your free t3 and 4 were still in range a quarter grain reduction would probably been enough to make you feel okay again. If you'd tested early morning as advised on here your TSH would have been even higher. You need to slowly increase to 1/4 grain below what you were on before then evaluate.

Hmmm do you have hashis?

Yes, I have Hashi's - over 25. yrs now since diagnosed. I thought I had put my old dosage in my post - I was on a total of 90 mg. of Armour, split into two doses, 60 mg. at 3 am (bathroom run so it works) and then 30 mg. at 3 pm.

When I started going hyper'ish after I stopped drinking, I went to 30/30 (same times as above) and stayed there for a bit, but still felt hyper. Then reduced to just the 30 mg. at 3 am. and waited 5 weeks to test.

Clearly I'm moving back towards hypo....and the reason I didn't have labs drawn in the am is that I didn't want to mess with my dosing schedule and from everything I've read, 12 hours after taking NDT is fine - and since I paid for and ordered the tests I'm not concerned about a doctor freaking out about my TSH etc.

Thanks, Lynn
