Calf Pain and PAD
Hi, I wasn't sure if this should be posted in a Diabetes forum or on here, after thinking about it I think that this BHF site is the better option. So Peripheral Arterial Disease. I had both Iliac Arteries 'bored' out with balloon angioplasty in May of this year (Left leg fully occulted and Right leg

Is it OK to drink Tonic Water?
Not being very keen on tea and coffee I struggle to drink plain water. Quinine
I have primary RLS, it's runs family. My mom, sister, brother and now son all have it. Mine started at 11 on a long car ride home. It worsened over the years. I told my family doctor about it at age 21 and he wrote me a script for Quinine capsules. Boom gone! Years later the new doctor says it didn't

”Aggressive” AF
About 6 weeks ago, I was put on a medicine called
Quinidine
which worked amazingly well but upon closer monitoring, the hospital realised the medicine was increasing my Long QT interval which puts at risk of another cardiac arrest episode.

No meds….yet
Hi New to this forum and RLS. Insomnia is crippling me and affecting everything from weight gain to cognitive abilities. I am desperately seeking sleep. GP has prescribed Quinine but little affect. Also on iron tablets, B12, Vit D, Magnesium. Next stop Ropinole. I’m scared to take this as there appears

Pramipexole relief
My doctor has just prescribed quinine as a relief from Pramipexole which I have been on for over 20 years. I was so taken aback I couldn't argue with her, but surely this doesn't work as well as any of the drugs described here. Has anyone had any success with quinine?

PBA Pseudobulbar Affect
Medications that healthcare providers prescribe for PBA include: Dextromethorphan/
quinidine
sulfate (Nuedexta®): The FDA has approved a combination of dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant) and a very low dose of
quinidine
sulfate (a drug used in the past to treat cardiac arrhythmias) as the first drug

RSL and Cortisol Levels
Tried to come off Ropinirole but the withdrawal was hard and I ended up with almost constant RLS symptoms I managed to reduce from 2mg to 0.5mg, but I am now back on Ropinirole reduced to 1mg per night. I am finally sleeping again albeit only 5 hours. I have also withdrawn from Duloxetine for Fibromyalgia

Restless legs &Leg pain
I'm sorry to hear the pain you are having in legs. Some good information in the feedback . when I get leg pain I drink tonic water , as it has quinine in that really helps only a couple of glasses though .I think you have to be careful with quinine.

Quinine for RLS
Im writing this in the early hours of the morning, kicking myself because I ran out of quinine. I haven't had to take it for over a . year now. I've taken it off and on for 12 years now. I buy straight cinchona bark, powder, then capsule it. It's worked to completely remove my RLS within 24hours
