Eyes
I recently wrote about my dry eyes. I have been to the opticians dry eye clinic and am doing everything he said. I also have another appointment with him later this month. I don't seem to see any improvement. About two days my eyes were quite good but then they go back to how they were. The thing I am

Allergic / nocturnal asthma
Hello, hope everyone is doing ok. I have a question to people who have difficulties sleeping and getting woken up at night. I've had fairly mild / standard asthma since a child. I'm quite healthy, fine with exercise and have a good peak flow, but over the last few years since reaching my 30s, I've started

Are hot flushes a sign/cause?
I'm trying to work out whether my symptoms could in fact be anxiety. Before I start to struggle, I almost always get really hot and sweaty, this continues until my breathing has calmed. It's like a little heat siren that I need to rest and take my inhaler. I am only 32 so it's very unlikely that it's

Lung function test and FeNo
Hi everyone, Had my first ever lunch function test done this evening. FeNo was fine at 13. Kind of frustrating as I was told to continue using my inhalers when I checked yet turns out I should have stopped them. she initially said lung function was good and then said it was on the low side. As I

Add on drugs that are usually prescribed by GP; montelukast, LABAs, combination inhalers and steroids!
Hi everyone As I think Iāve mentioned before this post is going to go into some of the add ons medications for asthma. As there are so many, Iāve decided to split it into 4 posts; those typically prescribed by GPs, those prescribed by secondary cons, those typically prescribed by tertiary cons and those

Running in the cold
Hi all! I hope someone will be able to help me. I've been running for about 3-4 months now with only a bit of difficulty from my asthma but obviously as it's now getting a lot colder, I've noticed my lungs are struggling a lot more. So does anyone have any ideas on how to combat this - e.g. inhalers,

Inhalers: what to take and when!
Hi everyone! Hope you are well and staying safe! This is more an infomercial for newbies to asthma than anything else! I know starting out it can be quite confusing as to what to take when, especially when itās not been explained why, so thought Iād do a (hopefully) short post about it! INHALER DESIGN

Ozone disinfector & sanitizer ?
The users of C-PAP machines for sleep apnea are recommended to use ozone disinfectors-sanitizers for their masks and hoses. The mask and hose is put into a tank with an activated ozone generator. I now use it also for additional disinfection (after washing and drying ) of face masks for virus-protection

Here we go!
Just had a call from a locum doctor from our surgery as I'd asked for a replacement inhaler. She started by saying that I was overdue a medication review (basically surgery only offers telephone diagnosis) so we could do it over the 'phone. Did I have a blood pressure reader and a peak flow meter? If

Asthma nurse, long term medication
Hi all hope youāre doing well. Been for my first appointment with the asthma nurse to check inhaler technique etc, she was very nice. The way she way talking was that she classed me as having a diagnosis of asthma and asked about symptoms/triggers. She read that the gp had suspected it a few weeks ago

Further Update: Multiple Chest Infections
A few people have asked for an update when I get it. Last week I had several blood tests and a sputum sample. Yesterday, my GP asked me to come into the office because I was relapsing after going off of the prednisone for the third time in about 3 weeks and he listened to my chest. He stated I was still

Insurance question....
Is there anyone on this board from Canada? My health coverage from work has refused to cover my preventer inhaler because they said I should be using Ventolin more. They cover the cheaper drug (Ventolin) but refuse to cover Zenhale (Dulera), or Singulair. I am surprised they cover prednisone. I am frustrated

Surprise find
Telephoned GP owing to shortness of breath, long term lung problem owing to fifty years breathing in flour dust as a lifetime baker, referred to hub at another surgery 6 miles away, seen by locum doctor, given antibiotics and two inhalers. Referred for a Covid test which was negative and a chest X ray
